EA RTG is a disappointment
Had I started out playing RTG I would have probably never played the game again. After playing in dynasty i decided to try RTG and to be honest it is horrible. I am not sure who coded it or designed it but they need to be fired.
let’s start with play selection. I started out as A QB. 90 percent of the plays are runs. Even when I use my option for other plays it stills gives me run plays. It is very frustrating to have runs on 1st and second down for loses and be stuck on 3rd and long trying to pass with a pass play that most often is either all go or play action. At least give the option of a couple different plays. On the same page when down on 1st and goal and 2nd goal you call runs that go nowhere and then on 3rd and goal call for a pass play that is all go please tell me where the * they are all supposed to go when you are on the 5. Yea I know you can audible but when playing on the road that doesn’t work.
Next the AI of the players you are not in controlling is at best sub par. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen a player run up to the first down line and then decide to either go left to right and now make the first down. Same had happened when I make a deep throw and there is nothing but green space in front of the player instead of running into the end zone for a touchdown they will run left or right when they get to the 3 yard line until they get tackled. Like seriously. Same goes for a run play when in goal to go. Instead of running through the open blocks they decide to juke left or right until they are tackled.
The next issue is not having the chance to challenge a play. I can’t count how many fumbles I have seen that aren’t fumbles and you can not even challenge them. What is worse is that 98 percent of the time you have a turnover the other team will score no matter where in the field they are. I had a running back fumble on the 1 yard line and the opponent drive the field and scored.
AI is a joke. I have been up 21 to 0. Will have a turnover then when I get back on the field it is 24 to 21 all in the span of less than a minute. Seriously.
RTG is trash .
