There's a distinct difference playing console only vs console with PC players. I saw in the beta and early months when there was enough PS5 players to find games.
Like it or not, the reality is most console players are not as accurate as PC players. Its a fact. Even with Aim Assist on, its a fact. Aim assist closes the game, but its no way as fast and responsive as mouse and keyboard on a good PC. Not to mention the better framerate, processing, and FOV in a good PC vs a PS5 or Xbox Series.
In console only, the gameplay is much more wide open. I can run around freely and even expect to turn on enemies that get behind me and get the first shots in.
With PC players, I get intant head shot all the time. I have to be a lot more cautious leaving cover. It results in a more restricted playstyle vs console only. Not just for me, but for the whole lobby.
@ArchAngeL-PCX For me it’s the exact opposite, the situation that are difficult for a mouse user, longer ranges, only a small part of a player is visible or moving or multiple targets is where I constantly see console players excel at.
I am not saying aim assist is OP far from it, but it’s those occasions where it’s outperforming it’s function and turns into an aimbot instead of an assist.
Think a big part of the issue is the 100% absence of recoil for console, makes weapons way more accurate so those times the aim assist is dead on the TTK is riduclous.

Aim assist turns off at 100m.
I'm pretty sure aim assist doesn't work against slivers of a player model. Will have to test this.
Most experienced console players turn off the snap aim assist because it's terrible against groups of tightly packed enemies, among other reasons.
- VOLBANKER_PC3 years agoSeasoned Ace@doubleome There is not 100% absence of recoil on console! This is very easy to verify for anyone with a console.
@VOLBANKER_PC 99%
Also noticed a ton more console players using scopes 2x and higher compared to PC, not weird cuz the recoil on the scopes is much more exagerated making them much harder to get shots on target.

Consoles get a 25% recoil reduction to first shot, horizontal and vertical recoil.
Controller Input
When using a controller, a player's weapon will receive the following benefits:
0.75x FSM
0.75x VRec
0.75x HRec

With all three of them working together I bet it's more than 25%.
Sorry for those I will shock but the picture will be I think pretty clear. When Paralympic athletes perform better than Olympic athletes, it would be silly to think that only personal talent plays and that the equipment did not boost the results too much.
I'm not an athlete and i don't compare controllers to paralympics... But with Hundreds of hours on every BF, more than 3,5KD, i'm not "crying cause bad". I just look of what happens those days ingame.
Aim assist in BF is now too strong. An urban legend claims the opposite, some guys even saying that many controller players play without any aim assist. But it is based only on dubious testimonies from player forums claiming to do so. Like the pro streamers who wield virtues before getting caught cheating... I rely on tests done by video game companies whose results were ALL without appeal.
Of course some players do play with AA off, but I suspect that they are only a tiny part of the players and that they are the same ones who complain on the forums that "all PC players cheat".
I was wrong when i thought the netcode was the only problem, i'm now pretty sure aim assist is too good now. And when i say "aim assist" i take the whole pack of advantages, inculding all recoils reductions.
And I wonder if it was already so or if Dice put a small buff discreetly for the month free playstation.
I had some weird experiences ingame but since yesterday (maybe a couple more days i 'm not playing 7D/7, it's just amazing.
I'm quite experienced in BF, and i never seen "beginners" mastering a game after 2 rounds...
I'm out of 2 games of Breakthrough where Playstation players between lvl5 and 17 were over dominating the game, top kills and top scoreboard. Been destroyed with your 2 friends with no time to react while running by one guy going full auto with a M5A3 with no attachments at 80m ?!?!? And not only "one bad run"... again and again, and i do not exagerated the ranges i did ping the enemy all the time because i was amazed.
I had multiple 1 vs 1 at around 50-60m with those guys who out dps me with their basic M5 while i had fully unlocked RPT31...
Yep guys under lvl20, still learning maps and guns, with no attachments just rulling the server.
And please don't argue about "yea players may do a secondary account but be veteran players blablabla..."
Wrong ! this game has a lot to grind, and the huge majority doesn't start again just to improve stats while having to farm for hours to get guns, vehicules and other unlocks. Those are new players.
One of my friends played a few rounds before and already experienced it.
And saddly most of the controler players have no idea of how they get helped...
Reading hilarious comments saying "aim assist is nothing in BF balblabla, COD does it well... " i get it. Since a few years, the 2 major FPS franchises for controller users have been Halo and CoD. And everybody agree those games are a joke when looking at aim assist, some pro players HAD TO leave M&K to stay competittive...
And now those players, who grew up in the world of boosted aim assist, shout "Dice your aim assist is not enough".
There is an important part of the players who are so used to sitting down and not having to deepen their way of playing or just to train that it must be hyper accessible and easy to take in hand.
Devs look numbers... They sell more let' listen to them.
I am over disgusted. I've endured a lot from Dice since years because i loved this franchise, seen friends leaving because of the poor quality of games release... But for the 1st time i'm pretty sure this is my last Battlefield.
If Dice consider that i have to try hard every round and can't play for fun because i'm facing players sitting quietly on their couch and who with a minimum of concentration can send you crazy shots BECAUsE my K&M are superior to a controller and they over compensate with software assit...
Of course i'm not saying there are no good players with controllers. I say, aim assist over compensate the controllers structural issues. And a dedicated controller player can reach really impressive stats. But is it fair?
I am not accusing the players, they would be crazy not to use it. But developers are laughing at us
I would say a total noob beginning in BF has far more chances of getting a few kills with a controller than a M&K one. Same level players but one get software boosting, disgusting.
It smell like a good bye Dice for me now. Unless the next BF got M&K for consoles, and base the crossplay on controllers on one side (then they use the level of aim assist they like without any balance issue) and M&K on the other side.
Sounds to much brutal expectations for Dice's limited ability to implement features in their games... I'm already looking for a new franchise.

It's not just console players bro, I was an Xbox boy, and all this crazy insta death nonsense started with the launch of bf3, under the guise of bad netcode, it's new players and poor players are given advantages to keep them playing and potentially make more purchases, via microtransactions.
I've been vocal about this ever since, only ever to be met with John trollvolta, and the inevitable mad becus bad bro remarks.
It's always the same, when I was on Xbox, pc players would insta kill me, when I'm on pc Xbox/playstation players insta kill me, regardless of what platform you're on, low level players or players who clearly can't get a positive kd insta kill me, make it make sense.
I'm by far not the best player in the world my stats are shot because for the most part I've played conquest on my own. But I can go on TDM and get 26-1 many times so I'm definitely above average.
