Hi I'm having a problem. Everything works fine apart form "Play Offline" which I assume is the campaign which is what a I wanna play. No matter what settings I choose, the game tries to go fullscreen at 600x480 then crashes. I can't find the location of the crash dump fileeither so no idea what's causing the problem.

Uploaded crash dump here

It's crashing while trying to set the video mode.
Try to either change your resolution or enable "Stretch to fullscreen" in the settings program, I will have a closer look into the crash later

Tried those. Always starts (doens't even start, the program changes resolution then the error box comes up before anything happens and I have to end task in Task Manager) in 680x400 then crashes.

It's still trying to lower your resolution even with higher resolutions set?
I guess you could maybe have the 640x480 compatibility mode enabled.
Can you go to your game folder and look for ra95.exe, right click -> properties -> compatibility. Make sure everything is disabled in there

Yes that fixed it! The options were all greyed out and I had to "change settings for all users" to be able to untick everything, but it worked!
Thanks for your help đ

Maybe you should make sure your installer disables any such compatibility modes on install đ
- Anonymous9 years ago
It does, I guess something added it back? Maybe the game repair/update feature?

Ah yes... people often forget that keeping auto-update enabled is a really bad idea when you start using 3rd party patches. Especially if said auto-update does integrity checks and reverts even if there's no actual updates đ¤

Hello, I have the ultimate edition and i tried the patch in red alert 1. It runs correctly, but every time I lose and I want to load a game it crashes. What goes wrong? Thank you.-
- Anonymous8 years ago
What is the exact error message? If it says something about a log named ra95crash.dmp then please upload the file somewhere, otherwise it will be impossible to help you
- Anonymous8 years ago
it says: "A crash dump file with the name 'ra95crash.dmp' has been saved. Give it to Iran for debugging, thanks"
- Anonymous8 years ago
Can you upload that file to a file hoster and share the link here? You could use zippyshare for example
- Anonymous8 years ago
I will try but i am not sure I can...-

I've not seen this one before, but I found another user having the same crash reported here:
https://forums.cncnet.org/topic/1108-problem-playing-the-campaign/?do=findComment&comment=7853
Did you have it on the same mission? he says "This one occurs on the Soviet Spy mission right as the intel center is blowing up and he flees the compound."
I guess it might be a bug in the map, the crash happens while drawing one of the cells (inside SmudgeClass)
If possible, you could maybe upload the savegame and share it with us? It would help a lot to get this sorted out. Either way, it's not a problem on your end and this may require a new patch to be made and/or a updated map file.
You will probably have to play this mission all over again now, no way around it.. âšī¸

No, it is not the soviet campaign and it happens in all gdi misions.
here a save game
- Anonymous8 years ago
Interesting, it works perfectly for me. No crashes.
What game resolution do you use? What language is the game set to? Did you modify any files or installed any mods that were shipped with custom graphics?
- Anonymous8 years ago
Resolution: 1920x1080, language: English. While I am waiting for your response I make some changes you have suggested to others with problems to see if anything change. But, all of these after a lot attempts with the main options. In video options I have unchecked force single cpu utility. Now it doesn't crash as before, but when I load a game it shows black screen and I here the misiion music behind.-
- Anonymous8 years ago
That's really strange, the only thing I can still suggest you are:
Play around with the following setting:
CnC-DDraw + GDI
CnC-DDraw + OpenGL
CnC-DDraw + Run In Window
CnC-DDraw + Max FPS (try between 30-60)

I will try it and we see. Thank you...-
Finally, I disabled both ddraw and ddwrapper (I saw it in here) and maybe something else (a lot of tests) and now it works good. Only the video plays in a small window. Sometimes, not often, it crashes when I load a game. I remember, 2 years ago I played ra1 again, I had a patch (I steel have it) and when I patched the game, I ran it and in the main menu, I typed a command and appeared all the resolutions. I chosed the one I wanted and pkayed the game...Sorry for my English. And thank you very much for your help.-
P.S.: I think the patch is this one:
- Anonymous8 years ago
Oh nice, good to hear that!
The video is small because stretching to fullscreen only works with CnC-DDraw enabled.
The command in the main menu to enable all resolutions is for Red Alert 2! Red Alert 1 doesn't support any other resolution than 640x400 by default
- Anonymous8 years agoOk, maybe I don't remember well. Thank you, anyway!-
