Re: Battlefield 2042 Linux & Steam Deck EAC support

Are there any chances we get Linux support? Now I don't say that Linux support is a standard on the market YET, but with the franchise's comeback to Steam, it would be nice to have official Proton support for the game.

Now, you can see the Easy Anti Cheat as an obstacle on a road to Linux compatibility, but it was an issue back on the game's launch. Now there are a lot of games on Valve's platform that have this anti-cheat and are playable on Linux using Proton. List them here.

i would also like linux support but not native support for the game, just support proton on the easyanticheat that you use. the game already launches properly just that easyanticheat doesn't let you in. back in the beta the game worked flawlessly on linux and that was because there was no anticheat. easyanticheat does support linux with proton and wine and lots of games have this support now. even one of your games apex legends got support for it and it even made me move to linux because that was the main game i was playing on windows at the time. if you think it will create more cheaters i doubt that will happen. also you adding support for this game will allow steamdeck players to play the game and valve is making huge strides to get more games working on it and so this would be a decent game to play on the steamdeck. thanks

  • Hi. battlefield 2042 is becoming a more solid game and over the past year of this game being released i have been enjoying it a lot on windows. i have recently move to linux which is a great operating system and provides a solid experience with apps and games. now most of my games that are on windows are supported on linux through wine and proton like apex legends, all of the other battlefield titles, overwatch 2, and even some new indie game companys like shatterline. i would rlly love for battlefield 2042 to be supported on linux through proton and wine but at the moment trying to do that results in the easyanticheat not letting you in and you just getting stuck on the season splash screen. The game already ran fine on the beta version with a few issues but when trying now there seems to be one error with a mismatch of the windows version. My wish is that the easyanticheat let linux players in through proton and i can enjoy the game again without having to install windows as a secondary os. also if you did bring support for this game on linux, players with a steam deck could also play and that means more money for ea. hopefully you see this and consider and see what you can do to bring a little bit of support for the linux/steamdeck users thanks!
