Re: Activation codes for Command & Conquer the First Decade can't be redeemed

Unfortunately, The First Decade simply doesn't exist as product on Origin, and neither do the separate games inside it, so no, you can't redeem a TFD code on Origin.

I'm not sure why neither of the two EA people answering those two threads would know that...

But yeah, seems like EA tech support sometimes just gives people TUC codes. Which is kind of odd, actually, since it means you get all of their newer C&C games for free 😛

The fact the multiplayer servers have been shut down has nothing to do with the fact the product doesn't exist on Origin. Multiplayer for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is similarly discontinued (since Gamespy was shut down), but that game is still sold on Origin, meaning a C&C3 registration key can perfectly be redeemed.

  • i know that mate, but that's what they told me on chat the game is too old and the servers have been shutdown so it is no longer supported.

The fact that the ultimate collection is still on sale is indication that this is not correct. the ultimate collection is the same as first decade with 2 or 3 more games, i dont know why EA didnt release TFD on origin too. i am not going to buy it again just so it shows up on my origin account, so i will just have to play it without origin.

Not much added value to Origin, anyway, except the "not needing CDs" thing. And the oldest three games in it are freeware anyway.
