I get no error either so pretty sure this is some kind of server issue. not the app launcher. dead space 1 launches fine.
EA support on the phone basically said he heard it works on steam. Looks like I can't transfer my license to steam.
If anybody knows how to do that let me know.
Hi, coming back to report some additional troubleshooting information.
On a completely different Windows 10 computer, I also installed the EA-app (via the forced upgrade prompt from within Origin, which was still installed on it) along with Dead Space 2. I then tried to launch Dead Space 2 on it, but it failed with the same error message; i.e. still an error on EA's end.
Can anyone from the EA-app dev team or something please look into this issue? Thanks in advance.
Same here. Dead Space 1 and Squadrons run fine from EA App.
Disconnected network cable.
Dead Space 1 and Squadrons STILL run from EA App.
Dead Space 2 doesn't even give an error. Nothing launches at all.
Direct Launching of game just re-launches EA-App which requires some always on server connection that as the error says is a problem on EA's side.
Also tried running EA App as Admin. Didn't help.
Tried my old laptop still doesn't work I get

It seems I'm running into a different problem, based on the logs in EADesktop.log. It can't find an "Entitlement":

In EA App click on Manage for Dead Space 2.Does your Game Key have dashes?
If it does I doubt it will work.
All my other keys do not have dashes.
If you can remove dashes maybe that would work?
I can't remove them or readd key without dashes.
Thanks for updating, flagrant99. It seems we now have the same type of error then ("EntitlementNotFound").
Looking at the game properties in the EA App, I see that my product key indeed contains dashes as well (whereas none of my other games do, just like you keenly observed in your own library too).
On the other hand, I would expect dashed keys to be supported just the same, because the product key printed on the back of the manual in my DVD case also has dashes. Similarly, in the "Redeem a code" dialogue window in the EA App, the text box shows a greyed out example key that also has dashes: 1234-ABCD-5678-EFGH.
If anyone has some ideas, any help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone!
I am doing some follow-up on this one as I have a few others running into it. I have a few questions for everyone if you don't mind. I have a good idea of what it may be but I cannot speculate.- When was the original game purchased?
- Was it through Origin or Steam or Epic etc?
- Past the few troubleshooting steps I've seen like trying to use the cd and cd key again what other steps were tried?
- List the specific error(s) you get - IE game cannot be launched - entitlement not found Etc. - I won't need the whole code string just the error.
Dead Space 2 Collectors Edition Pre-Ordered before January 25, 2011. Picked up the physical DVD's at my local Game Stop at the time in Norwalk, CT. on Release date January 25, 2011.
I tried to Launch the game from inside the EA-App. The EA-App says "Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later."
The logs says EntitlementNotFound.Hi EA_Shepard,
thanks for helping the investigation!
- I purchased the game as a physical DVD copy at some point in 2011 or 2012, in a brick-and-mortar retail store.
- As for the troubleshooting done so far, I've tried pretty everything I've found on the forums plus whatever I could think of myself:
- running as admin
- running in compatibility mode
- clearing the cache
- repairing the game
- clean boot Windows
- re-installing the game/EA-App
- updating drivers
- vc-redist reinstall
- sfc scannow
- Regarding the specific errors I get:
when I try to launch Dead Space 2, it fails to launch consistently. The error message that appears is "Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later."
As flagrant99 mentioned, that "EntitlementNotFound" error is just what we're both seeing in our local EADesktop logs when the launch problem occurs. We believe it more specifically identifies that "error on our end". From the looks of it, I would guess that we're both facing the same problem.
If any additional info would be needed, I'd be happy to provide it :-)

@JuanRemorquez The entitlements not found are the key indicator in that one. It seems that there is just an old version that is on there that has not been updated.
Can you do the following for me?- Uninstall the game
- Uninstall the EA App
- Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer, type in %temp%, and hit Enter
- Delete everything it allows you to delete.
- Then in the same run box, type, %programdata%, and hit Enter
- Delete everything in the Origin folder except the local content.
- Reboot the PC
After this, I would do a registry cleaner. Multiple free ones are great out there, but I think your registry needs a bit of a cleanup. Then reinstall the game again and see if you get the error.
If at that point you do again, contact an advisor and let them know you need an updated version of the game. Let them know you spoke to me to see if replacing the game and then doing a reinstall would work. Hey EA_Shepard,
Thanks again for your suggestions. I followed those steps, and noticed that there were indeed still some registry keys that stuck around after uninstalling Dead Space 2 and the EA App. In any case, after following your list of steps, I removed those registry keys, but it did not change anything.
I keep getting the same "error on our end" message when I try to launch the game, and in EADesktop.log I still see "EntitlementNotFound".
Going forward, I've just created a new support ticket via email, and I made sure to refer to your post. I'll make sure to update this forum thread too when I get a response!

@JuanRemorquez sounds good. Let me know if that changes anything. If they do replace it like that, make sure to remove the one that is installed as the registry sometimes still populates that info and not the new one that is added to your account.

The original errors was on fresh windows 11. So Nothing was left over from an old install.
In the EA App it shows standard edition. I own collectors edition.
Purchase history on the EA web site shows no record of me purchasing Dead Space 2 ever.
Has any one ever gotten an Original Dead Space 2 Collectors Edition CD Key to work in the EA App?
My guess is only if they entered the key without the dashes.
Hi @EA_Shepard,
Here's the info you asked for:
- PC/Laptop: PC
- Windows OS build: Windows 10 Home, version 22H2 build 19045.2788, 64-bit
- Nvidia or AMD GPU: Nvidia (GTX 970)
- GPU Driver version: 531.29
- EA Error ID: c193f78d-a77d-45c9-8a82-bd76a56fe38e
I hope it helps narrow down the problem :-)
@flagrant99 Tried this method for the app version and it won't launch... Look, I've tried HARD to like the new EA App but it's not working for me, I'm done trying to fiddle settings to get DS2 running. I also purchased a physical copy of it and I'll just resort to working methods (that I can't mention here or else...) to play the game.
(cm edit - removed language, let's keep it clean)

Hey Everyone
I reached out on this to see if we can get an update. As of now, there has not been one posted. We keep an eye on these daily, so when there is an update, we will provide one here for you. I am still looking for alternatives that get you in the game, but currently have not seen anything new past what has been posted on this thread as a possible workaround.
Hi,
I finally got an Advisor reply, but they just keep talking in circles... They replied with a bunch of linked articles which I explicitly said I already tried before unsuccessfully (clearing cache, vc-runtime reinstall, and pc graphics troubleshooting). What further aggravated me was how the reply concluded:
"For more troubleshooting or other things to try, please reach out to [https://support.microsoft.com/en-US]"No, EA, clearly I won't ask Microsoft to fix the Entitlements in my EA account that prevent me from playing my EA game in the EA app. This is an EA problem.
The Advisors either simply do not read the info I provide, or they're not allowed to respond as requested due to some sort of script I assume they must stick to. @EA_Shepard do you believe that this "game version update" is something that's actually in their power to carry out? I honestly feel like the Advisors are totally clueless about what that means, because they first ignored it for three weeks only to finally try and deflect the blame to my OS builder. Talking to the Advisors about this feels like talking to a wall. I'm at wit's end here.
Sincerely, a highly frustrated customer

@JuanRemorquez Hey, Basically what they should do is just replace the game and then have you wipe your system clean of anything related to the game. That would update yours do a more updated version of the game. I am g going to do some digging into this issue. I'll post an update on it as soon as I get one.
