That is very strange... have you tried doing a "Repair" of the game via Origin?  Open up Origin and right click the image of Dragon Age Origins and you should see various options like "Details, Check for Updates, Repair"   Check for Updates first actually, then after that click Repair, then just to be sure Check for Updates again.
