Clicking on Kane's Wrath launches C&C 3 Tiberium Wars instead

Hello folks,

So, I'll start by saying that I have been playing C&C 3 Kane's Wrath for several years now without any significate issues what so ever, that is until now. Since nothing really has changed with the game itself or my pc (except one thing), I believe I know/suspect what the culprit of my issue is (this one thing). I recently installed AVG tune up and ran the scan, which removed some so called 'broken registry items' from my pc. Unfortunately the option to undo the removals in the AVG app don't work.

Now, onto the issue itself: when I click Kane's Wrath it launches C&C 3 Tiberium Wars instead. I've tried launching it from the folder where it's installed but same outcome, it still launces C&C 3 Tib Wars instead of Kane's Wrath. I've tried reinstalling both games many times now at no result. I download and install the games through the EA app which itself I have reinstalled as well. 

Here's the interesting thing though, the last time I downloaded and installed Kane's Wrath, right after the completion of installation I get a pop up notification window in the EA app  with the option to Play the game or Clear the notification, I clicked Play and it worked! Kane's Wrath launched and I was in game. Of course after which I exited the game and tried to launch Kane's Wrath from my desktop but same result as previously: it launches C&C 3 Tiberium Wars instead. 

My assumption/guess is that something could be wrong with the pathway. By the way, in the EA app, Kane's Wrath is shown as an add on to C&C 3 Tiberium Wars, it's not shown as an stand alone game and in the app there is no option to launch the add on game Kane's Wrath, only the C&C 3 Tiberium Wars stand alone game. 

I would appreciate so much if someone could shed some light on this or provide any kind of advice what so ever.
