This is a moderated gamers help gamers board, not official EA support.

Please preform a clean boot and test the installation in clean boot mode.

Make sure your virus scanner and other security and similar software is disabled > Test.

I removed the EA App from my system. Then I performed a Clean Boot and reinstalled the EA App. I tried to download DAO: Origins and it had the same issue as originally described. Just says "Preparing" but never downloads the game.

Two other things that I tried (all from Clear Boot setup) were to run EA App as "Administrator" and the other thing I tried was to change the directory where the game would be downloaded and installed from the default EA Games folder. I created a folder called "BioWare" just to try changing directory locations.

Both of those also failed with the same result.

I have just tried to download Dragon Age origins from the EA App and had no problem doing that and playing the game previously on my old Windows 10 PC.

It seems since getting a new PC with Windows 11 the game will not download, I get the Download error after it reached 14% and is still saying "preparing"

I have tried clearing the cache and redownloading the EA App and get the same result. 

I had no problem recently downloading Mass Effect Andromeda on the EA App.

A solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

This is the last chance for me with the EA App, it is terrible and has caused me no end of problems in particular with the Dragon Age games since we were forced to use it instead of Origin. I have purchased all the games in a Steam Bundle and am at the point I'll just use that.

Hi, I have the exact same issue as dazk. Tried to download few older games; managed to download Jade Empire, Mirror's Edge and Dead Space (2008), but I got download error on some Dragon Age 2 DLC's
