For anyone encountering this, you can toggle this off at the system's Settings menu > Screen and Video > Video Output > 120 Hz Output
This option may not appear depending on your connected display. 

For anyone who is helped by this step, I wonder if you could provide the make/model of your display, so we can track down why this might be happening. 

@EA_DavidI can say this did not fix it. It was temporary. As of now I cannot play myself. I have two separate ps5s and both experience the error when I try on my account. However if I use another account from my household the can play fine.

I did find a work around from someone on Reddit. Starting the game and going offline while it’s loading will allow you to load in. So it has something to do with connecting to EA servers. 

@rainbowsix2011 It certainly does sound like something needs to be addressed.

However finding it is the tricky part, as the instability you mention doesn't seem to be widespread and the other person mentioning it here noted that it was specific to a single account. If you can test an alternative account to see if that's also unstable, that'll indicate that you have similar issues.

And if this is account-specific I ask about the friends list aspect as it's one of the main things that both will get pulled up when you go online, and can vary hugely from one account to another.

If you are getting prompted to create an error report when you experience the crash, I encourage you to fill them, they are very useful too.

I have the same problem here. Switching off 120Hz mode do not solve the issue.

Thanks, it looks like the 120Hz thing might have been a red herring. 

@lariand Can you check if it happens on alt accounts? And does swapping offline let you get in, like with the other cases here?

@rainbowsix2011 @donsklz123 Can I check precisely where it crashes? It sounds like it crashes before you even get to the title screen, can you confirm that?

Thanks for the update, so if I'm understanding right, you can get to the title screen, but then when you try to enter it crashes out if you're online?

@lariand Can you try the step above of disconnecting while the game starts? And If you want to try an alt account, you can make one yourself. I occasionally need to do so myself while chasing issues. 

@donsklz123 You mention a Reddit thread before, would you happen to still have the link.

@EA_DavidThe database rebuild doesnt solve the issue. Disconnecting while the game starts does.

Edit : I've been kicked out of the game after a few minutes... I had to reconnect to continue playing.

My EA friends list is short, but my PSN friends list is large. However trying another account does work. However I cannot go that route because I paid for the game on a different account. At this point I am just hoping for a fix come Friday. Game is fun, good competition for Monster Hunter but EA servers are holding it back.

Hi, I'd really love to gather more info.
As it currently stands it looks like this issue is likely to persist when the main game launches.

It's not widespread and seemingly only affects specific accounts, and we want to identify why this is the case sooner rather than later. 

My suspicion is that it's related to high numbers of PSN friends, and thank you @DonSklz for that info. Could I get the number of PSN friends you have?

You also mention a friend, do they also have this issue or are they just commenting on the situation?

For general questions, can I check: 

What region is your PSN account set to?
For those who haven't added it already, how many PSN friends do you have?
Have you ever renamed the affected PSN account?
Have you ever unlinked the affected PSN account from an EA account?
Some of these will ultimately be irrelevant, but details can matter a lot in tracking issues.

@lariandThank you for that. And I apologize, you are right that you can't easily play trials on an alt account. It had slipped my mind with the hectic pace of launch, thank you for correcting me. 

I just want to step back and re-examine some assumptions, to make sure this is the exact same issue. @lariand @donsklz123 Can I double check that it's crashing out with the ce-108255-1 error code from the first post?
