I tried this yesterday but it still don’t work for me ☹️
- @NoxolaBat2 YES, this worked! Make sure your Mac is updated to Sonoma 14.5. I can launch and play without a problem.
- @NoxolaBat2 wait so you just needed to quit the app then open again, AFTER updating to Sonoma 14.5? I'm on 14.4.1 but I'm going to try updating
I really hope this isn't the only solution. I have a MacBook Pro 2017 which apparently isn't compatible with Sonoma, so I'm only able to update up to Ventura 13.6.7. The Sims 4 System Requirements says "macOS X 10.11 (El Capitan)" which is a pretty old OS — EA will definitely need to update the system requirements and publicize the change if this ends up being the only solution.
@ash_mayhewI'm going to try now and will confirm this method as well. I've deleted the app and am updating. I tried running it on Sonoma 14.2.1 but it didn't work.
Edit: didn't work I just updated and same thing keeps happening.
- @Tini_skillz101 Hmm, that’s frustrating. I’m sorry! Did you definitely update to 14.5?
- @ash_mayhew Yep definitely on 14.5
I only needed to close the EA App bc I also had origin opened at the time which I guess wasn't compatible. I got an error message saying I'd have limited access since Origin was still open/I was 'logged in on another computer' which I think meant I wasn't able to open/play games. Once I closed origin and then closed and opened EA App I was able to open/play my games. Hope this helps!
I guess updating the computer system has only worked for a few ppl. Sorry guys! Hopefully there's an overall solution soon!
