Mac stuck on verifying

I have been trying to launch sims 4 for a while but it’s not working. When it launches, it gets stuck on verifying the game and eventually the sims app closes. When I hover over it, it says app not responding. I have tried clearing the cache, restarting my computer and when I try to repair the game the same verifying thing happens. Please help me if you can!
