I couldn't find anything strange when having a quick look @CelestialSocks.
Do you have an EA game on Xbox that you can launch? When starting an EA game it would prompt you to sign in with your EA account and I want to see if that works.
Another option is making sure that your e-mail address on your EA account and your Xbox account are the same.
@EA_Jason
I do not own an Xbox. The problem is entirely on PC. And I cant launch an EA game through the Xbox App because they all require EA Play, which refuses to link to my Xbox Live account.
The emails are different as Microsoft requires an @outlook.com address.I tried changing my EA email to that one, but the verification code is not showing up in any of my inboxes.[Edit: I was able to change the email to be the same, but it still wont let me connect my accounts]- EA_Jason4 years ago

Did you have an Xbox/EA account linked to any of the accounts previously?
If not, then could you create a EA Error Report and share the ID here with me @CelestialSocks?
Hi, I found the solve to this problem. Just uninstall the EA Desktop app and install it again from the official ea webpage, then log with your account and if it makes you reset your password do it, after thet you will be able to play. Hope it was helpful.
I am also having issues with it and can't look for any fixes. Is there something that can be done to fix this? I want to use EA Play as soon as I can.
Can I suggest a radical idea? How about implementing an intuitive way of linking accounts? Like clicking "Link Accounts", then having a list of possible services to link to and then clicking on the one you want and signing in through that. You know, like literally every over service. Is there a reason that EA has gone out of their way to make every single aspect of their PC experience unintuitive and irritating and in many cases straight-up broken?
this is dumb as hell ive tried everything and it doesnt work im now just gonna uninstall the EA app and stop trying to download EA games on the xbox game pass id rather pay full price on steam for a game than deal with this dumb * EA always has to be the most difficult company to deal with
THere is no error, just something went wrong.THen, you get stuck in the password reset sycle over and over again and nothing happends....

You mentioned a password reset @Joker56156. Do you get to see that when you try to log in with your Xbox account on the EA app that you have to reset your EA account password?
If so, could you please provide a screenshot?
No, it says your credentials have expired, please reset your password, then it's and endless cycle or password resets, I'll get you a screen shot when I'm off work.
Have you heard anything about this? Because I am having the exact same issue and I tried to contact customer support and they were 0 help. I try to reset the password and it doesn't work and if I log into my account Xbox is not one of the connections, but I can't log in using my Xbox login... exact same thing.

That could mean that you have two different EA accounts @TOBroc.
One that shows that it has been disabled and linked to your Xbox account and another one that hasn't been linked.
You can log into EA Help with your Xbox account credentials and then go to Account > Change mail address to check which EA account has been linked to your Xbox account.
Hey thanks for your response! The more I searched around the more I think this is the problem, but when I try to log in with my Microsoft/Xbox credentials to EA it tells me I have to reset my password. I do that and it continues to give me the same response. Do you know what I should do?

It probably means that you reset the password for another EA account that has not been linked to your Xbox account.
Your best bet now is to reach out to our support team to have this looked into:
You can contact EA Help via the EA Help website. Detailed instructions on how to use the EA Help service can be found here.
- @EA_Jason You guys are ridiculous. I have been dealing with this exact same issue all day. I'm done. Get your product working or get out of the way. Both EA and Xbox have the same email address. There is no reason to request someone to change their password 10x in a single day. Either design a system for linking accounts or stop advertising that your product is part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC. It obviously doesn't work. You have three pages here (and dozens more in other threads) telling you as much.

Hi @toddgarvin,
I'm sorry to hear that. Could you let me know what the exact issue is that you are experiencing?
Is is that you are unable to link your Xbox and your EA account, or that you are receiving constant notifications that you have to reset your password?
As everyone else in this thread has stated… trying to log into EA by selecting the Xbox login method causes your system to state that your credentials have expired and to change your password. I have been through this process multiple times. Changing your password has no effect on being able to login via the Xbox icon. It just repeats the same process over and over. Everyone in this thread (and several other threads) has been telling you the same thing. But you never offer an actual solution. I can sign in to my EA account. I can sign into my Xbox account. What doesn’t work is your process for linking the two accounts so that I can play EA games as part of my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate account for PC. What is the magic that allows that to work?

Just making sure @toddgarvin, there are different things that could be causing this and different issues requite different approaches:
- Make sure that you are logging in with the correct EA account. This will be the one that is linked to the Xbox account.
- Open up an incognito window on your browser, go to https://help.ea.com/en/ and log in with your Xbox account.
- You EA username will be displayed on the top right.
- If you're logging in with the correct EA account and even after resetting your password it will request another password reset after a while, then please get in touch with our support team and request a password reset.
- Do you get to see a mail address with disabled.ea.com and you cannot perform a password reset? Then reach out to our support team to check if it is possible to recover the account.
- Having issues with linking the account?
- Then try our steps as mentioned in our EA Help article.
- Make sure that you are logging in with the correct EA account. This will be the one that is linked to the Xbox account.
As has been stated by me and everyone else in this thread, we are unable to login to help.ea.com/en by using the Xbox account option. Every time we go through the Xbox login process (entering our Xbox username and password in the modal window), we are greeted with a message from EA that says “Please reset your password. You login credentials might have expired. Good news: all you need to do is reset. your password. If you need additional help, please visit help.ea.com.” (see attached photo)
I have now reset my password at least 5x and I still get the same message every time I try to login to EA with my Xbox account credentials. This is why all of us are here. We keep begging you for some actual support to get us past this constant request to reset our passwords so that we can link our EA account with our Xbox account.
It doesn’t seem like anyone at EA is even reading these messages since your responses do not directly address the problem we keep repeating here. Please read this thread and offer a real solution for linking out accounts. The options you keep offering do not work.
Hello to everyone trying to figure out the “reset password” issue. I found a solution for my specific case, but it may work for you as well.
1.) I did an experiment and tried to login using an old email address. Luckily, I still have access to that old email account so I was able to request a password change. I discovered I already had an EA account from 11 years ago that was linked to my Xbox username.
2.) I unlinked the account and changed the old EA user name to something different than the user name on my Xbox account (i.e. usernameold)
3.) I then logged into my current account using my current gmail address. I was then able to finally change the EA User Name to match my Xbox User Name.
4.) Once that was changed, I was finally able to link the accounts by logging out and then selecting the Xbox icon at the bottom of the login screen.
5.) I then went to the Xbox app and selected the game I wanted to download. This opened the EA desktop app and I was finally able to download the game without issue.
I hope this helps everyone suffering from this issue.
Good luck,
Todd
EA has stated I can log into EA help with my xbox credentials, however this too leads to an endless password reset cycle. It should not be nearly this difficult
Yeah, it's an endless loop no matter what you do. This is obviously some bug on EA's end there's no way for you to get around, and it doesn't appear like EA have any interest in fixing it since this same bug seems to go back almost a year and so many people have it.
I would guess that effectively anyone with it just doesn't get access to any EA play games if they have Gamepass, and there's nothing you can do about it. I would seriously not waste my time, because I think I'm done trying and I've been at it a while.
Hi Bro,
I didn't get you....
1st question- Your current Xbox username was linked to your older mail?
2nd Question - have one gmail id which is probably the account in which my Xbox is linked.. But I forgot its password and i am not getting the reset password link.
Let me know if you could help me!
- @toddgarvin Meeeeen!!!! Holly *!!!! this was my problem!!! I cannot * believe!!! I got an really old origin account too, that causes the problem, you are GOD!
