Re: Why doesn't EA Desktop remember my username or password?

Same here, so I just went back to use Oirigin. I literally forced myself to try the EA App (since they implemented achievements) and every single day when I booted up my PC & opened EA App, it asked me for my mail and password. Sadly I just stopped using the EA app after that and now with Origin everything works flawlessly. I don't really know why they're doing this, I hope they fix it, but since it looks like it's intended, I don't think they will change it.

    @holger1405 This isn't a issue on our end, it's how the ea desktop app was built and I'm sure that's how is intended to work. I've tried multiple times running as administrator and I've tried from different PCs but the problem still persists. We are all experiencing this problembbecause they purposely designed the app that way, they want us to log in each time for security measures. But as everyone is saying, they need to change it asap, this app is not user friendly at all.

    If I have the "keep me signed in" box checked, EA app just immediately closes itself after I enter my user and pw and hit the button to login.  If unchecked, EA logs me in as normal, and everything works, though of course this doesn't save my credentials.

    I only game on a box that sits mostly untouched, and is set to launch all of its update apps overnight.  If I can't automate launching the EA app, I won't buy any games on EA platform, simple as that -- I don't hate EA or their app, I'm not a fanboy for any service, if you have a working platform and best price, I will buy games from your platform instead of the other.  In this regard, I can launch EA games bought on steam, from the steam interface no problem.  Sad.

    @Tekamthi

    Try an app recovery.

    In EA app > Click on the 3 lines in the top left corner > Help > App recovery > Clear cache

    thanks for suggestion but I've tried this previously.  Also deleted the whole thing and reinstalled, all the obvious trouble-shooting first and second steps.  Just gonna buy EA games from steam store til EA updates their app with a fix.  Been this way for over a year though, not holding my breath.

    @Tekamthi

    EA app is still required, even if you by the games on Steam.

    Try running the EA app as administrator for one time > apply the setting > Test.

  • VEry funny

    I've got just now again a passwort+username entry  (i hate this so much, this is like EA make me to their password-donkey) and after this my game was not in the installed state.

    "Mytserious" i expect such statements from theistic guys but not from a software company. What is a "mysterious error" and why this mystic thing is preventing me from using a paid game????

    I dont have much respect form software developers which rant somethign about mystic, this shows they don't have their stuff under control.

  • It has worked for quite some time, then suddenly 2-3 weeks ago it started for me as well.

    As said earlier, navigate to EALauncher.exe and have it Run this program as an Administrator in the Compatibility tab, worked like a charm.

    My path: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop

    It used to keep the login info just like ALL the other apps. It now in 2023 is still having issues remembering and retaining the information. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. It is really a pain and usually, I just close it! EA needs to fix their crap software, or people will just buy games on other apps that work and value their customers!

    "Security Measures?"

    Does EA or any OTHER software company think that computers are being stolen left and right and having their login data extracted?
