Re: game pass/ea play 2042 download error

I am experiencing the same problem. I attempted to download the game since it was newly added to Game Pass Ultimate, and I am having no luck. I tried restarting my PC and clearing cache within the EA App and neither of these have fixed the issue.

Edit: I wanted to add that I have tried downloading other games within the EA App and I have no issues with them. This download issue seems to be exclusive to Battlefield 2042.

@EA_Atic yes.. still had the problem. I installed origin back and there i can download bf2042 but only 10 hour trial version... in EA app it shown as installed game now (origin install bf to ea app default install folder) but play button not showing only download button and download stuck as usual. I dont understand the 10 h trial but its more than zero. But after 10 hour? I subbed EA play so 10 hour not i want/paid.

I have exactly the same issue. I pre-ordered the beta but cancelled it. However it still shows up in my account.

That's why it is conflicting when I try to install Battlefield 2042 EA Play edtion through Xbox Game Pass.

I tried contacting support but the support page seems to be broken here.

Ok so this worked for me.

At first, I just couldn't download the game through the EA app, the button was grey, like in the attachement. 

I have played the Free Trial some time ago, but I noticed the game was still installed on Steam. After unistalling the game, I was able to download it again through EA.

Is anyone else able to confirm if they are still having any problems downloading Battlefield 2042? We've seen a few reports that it's been fixed, but if you're still having any trouble please let me know.

I have the same problem. I remember that the game worked perfectly for me when I tried it for a free weekend on steam, now I contracted Game Pass Ultimate and I can't open the game, it doesn't go past the EAC. Closes and reopens EA Play. It's with the only game that happens

Yes, I am still having issues. I gave up a couple months ago on this, but I decided to give it another try. I have Game Pass Ultimate and I play on PC. I did try to Pre-order the game, but something ended up happening with my bank as soon as the money was taken out, I think there was a problem on the banks side of things. SO I ended up not getting the Gold Edition, which was fine because Battlefield 2042 seemed to have a rough start. Now that it's on Game Pass Ultimate, I decided to give it a go. The issue is now, it still tells me that I own the Gold edition when I'm just trying to download the Standard Edition that comes with Game Pass Ult. I've tried doing everything that I could like clearing cache and what not. The game will just keep trying to download and keeps giving me errors. I found this thread and realized I'm not the only one with the issue. Any help?

Im having the issue with ONLY battlefield 2042 where its stuck on preparing and eventually says there was an error. i have cleared the cache several times, reinstalled the ea app multiple times and there has been no solution. i also tried downloading the game through xbox and no dice. i didnt have this issue until origin was removed from my pc because you guys deleted the platform. how do i fix this? ive been researching this issue for several hours and the only thing ive seen is that it just magically fixes itself after someone complains about if for long enough. so its a problem on your guy's end. 

Can Confirm issue is still here, error codes exist for a reason implement them. We payed to play the game its rather ludicrous that y'all are asking us so many questions on how to resolve the error. the closest thing I found to a reason the problem was happening was that the download size is off. After constantly trying to install this game I was finally met with a progress bar "1.6gb installed out of 128 TB". if the process to find this issue is so hard, then make use of Error codes and debug/crash logs, let the community do it for you, this is standard operating procedure in most software, and for a company with such an infamous history of buggy releases its a wonder how this is being handled so poorly.
