Re: EA Launcher doesn´t install in choosen directory

Well, if you guys think there is nothing to be fixed I think, as the client, that your job needs to be fixed...

Every gamers or almost has a big "normal" HDD for their games. We can't install many games in our C: SSD drive. Having to reinstall our 234067480234780 apps every time we have a problem or we format our drive is far from offering a good client service.

    Hey @DestrockQc2,

Within the EA app it is possible to select a different location to install the games that you would like to download/play.
  • The EA App lets you select a different location, but only within the c: drive or root drive for your OS installation.

The fact that EA has known about this issue for 2 years and done nothing shows you dont care.

  • As mentioned previously, the teams are aware of your feedback about this feature lol

"The EA app is functioning as intended by not allowing the selection of an alternative installation location."

What is the reason for this? Your app has now also installed a second folder that is the same size as the original called "outdatedEAdesktop" into my OS only C drive! Your app is taking up too much space on my OS drive. It is absolutely unacceptable in this day and age to force your users to install an app in C drive. You are not even providing a reason for the app to be doing so. I am afraid to update my app and play my games that I have spent a lot of money on over the years because I think eventually my OS drive will be too full. Please express to the dev team that this is problematic. They do not seem to be taking this seriously.

    Hey @novemberleaf,

The EA app installation itself only takes up about 700MB on C. As mentioned in my previous posts, it's very much possible to download/install games on a different drive. This can be configured during the installation process of the EA app, or later on via the EA app settings.
  • I will also add my two cents to this, it is for me as a user absolutely hostile that that EA app does not give me an option to chose the installation path for the main program itself. It doesn't matter if any other company or their application has the same issue, the EA app should ALWAYS give the user of the system the option to choose the installation path.

If I want it on another drive it is not your business where I want it.

The fact that this is an issue 2023 shows that EA keeps being out of tune with it's user base. It's disgusting.

  • Are you guys out of your minds? Who are you to dictate where to install your BETA version of some intrusive bloatware that nobody ever asked for?

Include an option to install the launcher elsewhere. This is not a kind question.

It's utterly disconnected from reality to simply respond with "deal with it" to your customers' concerns... absolutely insane.

Some of us have EXTREMELY limited C:\ drive space which is used only for specific purposes (like startup).  I have a very tiny startup drive that I only use for booting up the OS (C:\) and I don't have 500MB to spare for a game client.  Other games allow me to install it on my a separate drive.
