Re: How to fix EA app Error 500?

I * FIXED IT BOYS! Go into the windows search bar and type in the EA updater, Run as administrator and force and update. Close the EA app and restart it with the update and it worked for me hope it works for you too. Cheers lads!

  • @Pippuy tried this fix, but only got this message on the command prompt screen that came up:
    QIODevice::read (QNetworkReplyHttpImpl): device not open
    Update server is unavailable.
    [Exit in 3 seconds]
  • I can confirm this worked for me .. it looks like EA app doesnt have some automatic updates or idk, anyway, I recommend everyone to try this

This worked for me! Thank you!

I've applied to software development internships at least 10 times at EA and they've rejected each one, despite me

    - being a 4th year at a prestigious university

    - having good grades

    - having 2 years of total work experience in a big city

    - having strong open source contributions and projects

and we continue to witness that their dev team is flopping all over the place and couldn't resolve a house on fire for 3 WEEKS!

You have a loooot of devs being paid for nothing EA. Hope you realize it sooner or later. Or maybe you know but don't give a damn?

Give me a ping when you actually want * done at your company.

    Best,
    Guy

They kinda more interested in degradation than hire good qualified emloyees. Not a very good company to work with.
PS Also worked for me, tanks.

Partially worked.  I no longer get a 500 error message when I try to launch Mass Effect Legendary Edition.  Instead it now states: "your game failed to launch.  An error on our end caused your launch to fail.  Try again a little later."

I'm a little confused about how errors at EA's end are preventing me from playing my game.  I'm not looking to to join an EA server and play a MP game.  I'm just looking to play a single player game of Mass Effect!  So in effect even for a single player EA game I must be connected to the internet and things must be working from EAs end?  Offline play not an option!?  On top of the 500MB bloatware launcher I've been forced to download to play the game I purchased?  What absolute pirates.

  • Thank you, Dizzerio, this finally worked. I had to exit and launch for a second time. And I also did the thing with Menu -> Help -> App Recovery -> Clear Cache -- the dedicated Unscramble Our Mess they provided -- so who knows what would and would not work the day after tomorrow.

Here's my feedback, EA: Every. Single. Time with these * game launchers, all the different kinds and from all the different companies. I don't remember a single instance when Steam hid my entire game library, spouting cheerful and unhelpful error messages. The player is forced to spend more time trying to start a game and reading on the internet about how to finally do it than actually playing it. I am positively dreading this and I prefer buying elsewhere to avoid dealing with such a low rate of success in supporting a piece of software, and even then someone decides that it's very important to launch their launcher on top of another launcher to see how've I been lately.
