same - tried:
uninstalling / reinstalling
restarting
resetting router
ending ea background process in task manager
i changed the setting earlier today for the ea app to no longer run upon startup and i highly suspect this was it, as i had left the computer on since then (trying the above) and getting error 10005 but with a shutdown (bios related to startup procedures) now its throwing me error 105 (again after completing a clean install)
update --
still gave me error window with 105 offering to restart app but below that it displayed single game i have in app haha - jedi survivor and next to that a play button, clicked play button and seems to be working fine
the jank in this app doesnt surprise me unfortunately given ea haha
cheers good luck folks --

I seem to have solved this issue for myself, so I figured I'd post here to help folks who are having the same issue, maybe it will help.
I ended up narrowing it down to a network issue, so I unplugged the WiFi extender I was using and connected directly (wireless) to my router instead of the extender. This fixed the issues I was having with login error EC:10005 and EC:105.
Hope this helps anyone who might be using a WiFi extender!

Thanks for letting us know about this one. Hopefully, if others are using these or similar equipment, this helps them out too!
Thank you for the advice, but I'm not using an extender. Still getting the cycle of errors. This has nothing to do with my end. It is 100% EA Games.
It indeed looks to be related to network configuration/behavior, as @pearcedgtl findings suggest, but it's not limited to Wi-Fi extenders.
I've found out that using a USB Wi-Fi network adapter triggers the EC:105 error without exceptions. If instead I use the USB tethering function of my Android phone, the App works flawlessly (the phone is connected to the same WLAN the computer connects to when using the USB network adapter, so it's not an ISP problem). Before any stupid suggestions about the network adapter itself malfunctioning, every other game client installed works without problems using the USB Wi-Fi network adapter (Steam, GOG Galaxy, Epic Store, Rockstar Games Launcher).
WTF is wrong with EA's software? Can you pass this info to someone who's directly involved in troubleshooting this mess?

Hello everyone,
Thank you for reporting the Error Code EC:10005 in the EA app that some of you have been experiencing. After reviewing the already provided EA app Error Reporter IDs, our teams have determined that this error code is often caused by issues with your home network or Internet Service Provider (ISP), or temporary interruptions in the EA app services. In most cases, this error code can be resolved by rebooting your modem/router or reconnecting your device to the WiFi if you are connected wirelessly to your modem/router.
We've also heard from players who mentioned that their WiFi extender or repeater could be the culprit behind this error code. Unfortunately, these devices have a tendency to cause connection problems in some cases.
To help resolve any underlying network issues you may be experiencing, we have connection troubleshooting articles available on our EA Help website. You can find basic troubleshooting steps here: http://x.ea.com/ea/basic-connection-ts, and more advanced steps here: http://x.ea.com/ea/advanced-connection-ts.
Our top recommendation is to connect your device directly to your router using a wired connection, as this provides the most stable connection.
If you have already tried these steps and continue to experience the error code, and there are no known interruptions with the EA app services, please generate an EA app Error Reporter ID by following the steps on our website and share the ID with us here in the thread.
If you are unable to open the EA app in order to generate the Error Reporter ID in the app itself, please scroll down to the section titled "I can't open the EA app."
How to generate an EA app Error Reporter ID in the EA app?Thank you for your cooperation.

Was unaware of this issue until it happened to me when I tried launching the app this morning. Have tried all the suggested solutions but have had no success.
Having this issue myself now as well, just since this morning. No changes to my hardware, software or network settings or setup have taken place. Was playing just fine last night.
Oddly enough, can play and log in just fine if I enable my VPN first.
im also having this issue. it seemed okay this morning but error 10005 no matter what i do
error id is 6bb9f945-7f8b-4c03-962c-86731e6d8234
I guess the best we can do is just report the issue and wait and see...I even checked the official 'X' (Twitter) for them and nothing reported there, no outages or any server issues reported anywhere i could find, not by EA anyway..
hopefully someone from ea can jump on and let us know whats up. im so sad i cant play my game.

I'm happy for those whose 10005 error code was solved by these suggested solutions, however none of them have worked for me. I would just like to know why there isn't an offline mode attached to this app so I can continue to access the product I paid money for. It seems like a simple enough feature to include.
same here. nothing worked for me. just was told theyd forward the problem along. ugh

@MessaNoir It just started happening for me as well, as of about 3 hours ago. No suggested fixes have made any difference. I am getting this error on two separate PC's. I can't imagine that they both suddenly developed the same problem with any network or firewall settings. My Internet service seems to be fine for any other application. I might look into installing the EA App on my XBox Series S, just to see if I can log on from there.
@RandomBuzziness Dang, does seem to be popping up more, I'm guessing as more people are trying. I will say, the only "fix" I have found, is to log in to my VPN, load the app and let it log in, then disconnect my VPN (So as to not potentially violate any ToS on VPN usage) leaving the app open, then launching games works....as long as I don't close or sign out of the app.
Given that the issue doesn't seem to be affected by changing or resetting our own network settings (Outside of what VPN's do), I seriously am beginning to doubt the issue is solely on our side...
I just tried using my VPN to log into servers located in areas that people are mentioning having this issue, and guess what...I can use the app just fine...yet, if I turn off my vpn and try just using the app normally...the error pops back up. yay....EA, how bout you take a new look at this, or at least publicly let us know you are looking into it? would be nice maybe....
this is so weird you tried pa too and it let you in. like what is happening. just some type of acknowledgement would be nice so i know i can play my game at some point ya know

@MessaNoir I can confirm that using a VPN, for the specific purpose of only signing into the EA App, and not playing any EA game, is working for me as well. I was able to sign into the App, go into offline mode, and then disable/ turn off the VPN, and the App kept running. Like you, if I turn off the VPN and then try to sign into the EA App, I still get the Error code EC:10005. I am not comfortable in actually using this method to play my games, I only wanted to test to see if it worked for me as well. I hope they can get this fixed soon.
For any on this post that are interested, or EA if they want to see, here is a quick YouTube video I recorded to show the issue and the workaround.

@MessaNoir and any others posting on this thread: An advisor on Help EA chat just informed me that there is a known issue with the EA servers for some areas. They didn't have an estimate on how long it will take to fix it, but at least they are aware of the problem and are working on it.
I am just a regular Sims player, I do not work for EA.
- @RandomBuzziness Thank you so so much !
@RandomBuzziness Thanks for letting us know, at least some of them are trying to be helpful even if just acknowledging that something is going on. It's a step in the right direction. 🙂
- @MessaNoir yep! still no luck on my desktop may just try to do my hotspot until its fixed no idea whats going on
