Connection error PS4

Hi I am having a similar issue connecting with a friend on ps4. He receives the error code 401 please update your password to connect to ea servers. However he did update his password and in connected to his profile on his phone but is still receiving the 401 can’t connect error. Help!

    Hey @COCODROOO 

    If you are both on the same account, it's not possible to play together.
    You need 2 separate accounts to play this game, one needs to have the full version and one can have the free friends pass.
    Also, know that account sharing is against the Terms of Service.

    Could you provide me with a bit more information?
    Is code 401 the full error code or could you provide me with the full error code or a screenshot of it.

    Hey @garrettedavus 

    Can he login into the EA portal and check if he sees his PS4 connected to his EA account?
    Once you are logged in search for Connected Account. 

    His account should be there but I recommend checking. 🙂

    Thanks so much! Turns out he was connected to ea through an alternate ps account. He switched to it and bam connects perfectly. Thank you so much!

    @Zeelmaekers I have the same issue. Error 401-fa2. I'm using ps4 with PS plus my friend as well and we're sharing accounts. I don't see how to connect my EA account to my ps4 or the other way around. It's frustrating, bought the game on day one and we haven't been able to play

    I also bought the full game for PS4, bought the monthly EA pass for PS4, and I still can't connect through the "Play Online" option. Did I just pay +$45 for nothing? Still gives me the 401-fa2 error code.
