There can be different reasons why you might run into this. We've popped together some ways to help friends appear in the search results over here: EA App - Can't find a friend. Could you take a look at those recommendations and give them a go, please? If your friends still haven't appeared in the search results after, there's some information we'd need to better understand what might be happening.
