Summarize your bug In EA App Application Settings, the toggle for Background Services shows as if it is turned off, but when looking in Windows Services Management Console, the EABackgroundService remains enabled and running.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go to EA App > Application Settings, then toggle off Everything just to be sure. After that, open Services Management Console in windows and look for EABackgroundService and see service status (running) even though the start type is manual.
What happens when the bug occurs? Background Services for EA Desktop remains enabled and running in spite of turning it off in Application Settings.
What do you expect to see? The service should be stopped and/or disabled when it is turned off in EA App Application Settings.
This is basically a copy paste ticket which left unanswered and closed by an EA employee which is unacceptable. During Beta as soon as I noticed this happening I immediately uninstalled this malware thinking it would not happen after final release of this app. I kindly ask the EA employees to not close this ticket until we have 100% confirmed answer on how to get rid of this malware running in the background even though the bloatware app is closed. The reason I keep calling malware or bloatware because those are something you cant get rid of which is valid in this case.
This is the old ticket that got locked by an employee:
