Re: How to fix Error Code EC:10000 or EC:10500 in EA app?

hi, as i wanted to launch mass effect legendary edition a bug occured et and i had error EC 100005 for awhile, the error message did not say anything helpful, only "the app could not do THINGS and STUFF" and speaking about that, what the * is this ? who in his right mind thought it would be a good idea to say "things and stuff" for error reports ? and the worse is that you also find those kinds of "stuff and things" everywhere, this is a real issue right here you guys in EA have to stop promoting 8 years old because this is super lame.

Anyway, i had to look for a good 15 minutes on the internet, i almost thougt it was the ea server being down but i was sure something was wrong so i simply launched the repair option on the ea app and i finaly was able to connect.

Right now i am about to go play my fantastic playthrough of mass effect but before i needed to let out my frustration because this is not normal AT ALL that we cannot have a good and nice error report that is detailed instead of a "the app could not do stuff lmao" like what the hell.

  • Try logging into the EA app as invisible. Someone mentioned that on Twitter and it worked for me. Maybe it'll work for you too? (I'm just trying to spread the love)

    Summarize your bug If I leave the EA app in offline mode after selecting it in the drop-down menu, it will, within around 4-5 hours without fail, throw out an error code, "10501", and require me to log-in again.
    How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Select "Go offline" from the drop-down menu in the top left. 2. Wait around 4-5 hours and it will throw out an error code, and you'll have to log-in again.
    What happens when the bug occurs? An error message pops up, and you have to log-in again.
    What do you expect to see? The error message, and the log-in screen? I'm not sure I understand the question.

    Trying to play ME 2 offline so I can get achievements. But in a longer session, I will be interrupted by this. Thankfully, easy enough to work around by just exiting the game, logging in, and re-entering.

    It seems like the error's message indicates it's lost connection and can't. That's obviously weird. It shouldn't be trying to.

    I'm having the same problem with Error Code 10501 in offline mode.  I don't like downloading sims 4 patches for at least a few weeks because of how buggy they always are so I'll play in offline mode until then, and every single time after about 4-5 hours I'll get error code 10501 and the ea app will have to be restarted.  From what I've gathered from the error is that it almost seems as if it thinks I was logged in and somehow got dc'd and it keeps trying to connect me until it's finally like 'well we couldn't reconnect you so you need to restart in order to reconnect' even though I don't want to reconnect because I chose to go offline.
