5* weak foot and trivela +

anyone else having this following problem?

I have a 5 * weak foot player with trivela plus playstyle, who seems to refuse using his playstyle plus from the other side. He is left footed, and when im on the right side of the pitch approaching the goal and want to use trivela plus ( pressing L2 + shoot) he doesnt perform the trivela, instead he goes for pointless normal shot every single time just as it would not work at all. Then when im on the left side of the pitch in the similar situation he does it about every time.

He is supposed to perform it the same way from both sides if i press L2 + shoot because he has 5* weak foot, right? What am I missing?
