Re: PC Stuttering EAFC 24

So, I've

HP Victus 15. i5 12th gen, 4050 6gb, 16gb ram and I was fighting with it as well. Tried a lot of different solutions.

Finnaly did this:

EAFC 24 PC Sluggish & Stuttering Fixed | November - Answer HQ

+ some fiddling with settings.

In game I've set:

1920x1080 windowed bordeless * (you can also set full screen, but in my case [I've an additional screen] fullscreen cut refresh rate of my monitor from 75 to 60)

no limit on fps, vertival sync on, dynamic off, full frame rate, hair off, all other on "auto"

nvidia control panel on EA sports fc24.exe (program settings):

only

Vertical sync: Adaptive  (you may try different one to see which one's better)

power management mode: prefer maximum performace

windows game mode and Hardware Accelerated in Game Settings on OFF

but what is important for reducing stuttering in bordeless in my case:

windows default graphic settings (system>display>graphics>default graphics settings)

I've  put Optimisations for windowed games ON

The gameplay is playable now, I only experience small stuttering in cutscenes. I'll try to work it out.

plus I wonder how long will it last XD

  • Thank you very much! That kinda worked for me! It is yet far away from being fluid gameplay, but at least your solution made the game a little more playable, especially regarding the input delay

edit: after a reboot in the morning it feels bad again...settings still the same like in the post of wojtkot

    @KINGbn9rYes, you're right.
I've kept on changing things and now it's almost fine but:
    1) I've switched to my laptop 144mhz screen not the external monitor (75mhz)
    2) Changed few things in Nvidia to prefere performance
and now it's fine in game and in cutscenes

    But no.2:
The game lags and has a lot of slowdowns while playing online (I've 600mb optic fiber connection with ~10ms pings).
It's kinda tiring to spend my free time on trying to work this thing out rather than actual playing and getting annoyed by the gameplay itself :P

So right now I'm on setting from the screenshot + adaptive vsync

  • All the stutter results from Vsync=on ingame, if u disable this the framrate never drops below ur refresh rate and hence it never lags. Somehow Vsync also causes huge spikes in CPU usage midgame.

  • @wojtkot  i have try your method and it still laggy in game so i have to lock the fps, but i kinda feel when lock fps is causes input delay. Is there anything else to do ? I dont want to lock the fps

When I lock fps I get lags.

Yesterday was a third day that everything worked fine for me, I don't want to jinx it 😅. It works almost smooth on both my screens (laptop 144 and monitor 75mhz)

I think that a game chaner for me was changing windowed games optimisation in Windows 11, switch ing to windows bordeless in the game and setting vsync on in the game / adaptive in nvidia + nvidia setting from my last post.

But you never know how long it will last.

  • I have tried all your suggestions, and many of them have worked for me, but they stop working after a short time. Well, we are approaching the end of the year, and I still have hope that EA will respond to us... Thanks to everyone for continuing to post here.
