generic controller is not working in FC25 for PC

I recently bought a generic wired controller (not a costly one) to play FC25 in my PC (Laptop). I have FC25 via steam. While steam is recognizing my generic controller, it is not working in-game in FC25. The only thing that works is R1 button on the controller opens EA overlay. Nothing else works.

My PC is detecting the controller properly. I tried disabling/enabling the steam input, etc. I have tried making changes to the steam controller settings also, I have all tried the usual steps, none of them worked.

Is anyone else facing the same issue with their generic controller? Is there any solution?
