Hi dude, I had the same problem, this helped me:
Close the EA app completely by opening the Task Manager by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + ESC. In the Processes tab locate the EA app and EA background service, and end the processes.
2. Locate the EAdesktop.exe file on your PC in the Electronic Arts\EA Desktop folder.
Direct address: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop
Much appreciated reply, i'm pretty sure i did everything correctly but it still gives me the same resluts. At this point it must be something wrong with the EA App still thinking i haven't payed for the game.
I also have the same problem. I've tried reinstalling the EA app but no luck. I can only access the web app. They need to fix this asap. What's the point of preordering if we can't even download the game? Please let me know if something works for you.

Hi, I cancelled my pre-order version, bought new ultimate edition. I checked EA payments, the new one was fullfiled, so I did steps I sent above and it helped me to download and now I can play the game.

I paid for EA Sports FC 24 a couple of days ago. Got the payment receipt as well; however, I am not able to download the game. It continuously gives me a Download Error on my PC. EA Help/Customer Support has been quite useless and have not been able to resolve the issue. It will not let me get a refund either. I have tried all the suggested troubleshoots.
I find it mindboggling. If I am unable to download the game I paid for, then I should be able to get a refund OR the game I paid for. Once again, EA Chat is very useless.
