Re: Packet loss

Maybe you are not connecting to the closest server. This could be caused by the way your isp routes you.  Taken from the help page.

EAS FC will always try to connect you to online matches on your best game data center. Although that’s often the nearest one, this isn't always the case.

Internet service providers (ISP) generally don’t send data from Point A to Point B directly. They route this data across locations, sometimes across the globe. This can be a physical networking infrastructure limitation of some ISPs or part of their business model. These decisions are ultimately handled by ISPs based on their unique needs and situations.

In some cases, your connection to a game data center is the best connection available at the moment, even if it’s further away. Your connection can be routed elsewhere if there are internet issues impacting the route that your network traffic would normally take, or if one of our game data centers is experiencing technical problems.

  • Sure, there are always problems on the other side, not ea`s, how could I forget? Do I have to bring appologies? Did you read my post though? I said I did a lot of tests and I don`t have packet losses.

@DmytrykUKRR A score of 85 and all the warning signals going off suggests it’s your isp at fault. Why would it be eas fault if you have a poor test score?
  • Then why do I have excellent score on other sites I mentioned above?

There are a lot of variables you are comparing 3 or 4 different tests. Are they all done on the computer or is some on console?  Are you testing other games or just servers?  When you test ea fc it’s the game not just the server so you could be sending more data. If your test to New Jersey isn’t showing higher than your nearest server then that test doesn’t seem reliable.

I assume you see lag or delay with all the warnings and low test score right?  If so I would say the ea test seems pretty reliable.

  • Well today and yesterday I got 95 in connection quality report. But the issue didn`t go away - same input lag which most often manifests itself in the delayed reaction of players to pressing the acceleration button. But ofc there are other signs of it like drifting players when they jockey, overall ball controll etc. I had it playing locked on 60 hz and also on 120 hz with 120 fps accordingly. So as you can realize now it`s definitely not on provider`s side. It`s on @ea sports`s side.

  • why are you silent? Today I got 96 score in ea connecntion quality report. And even in squad battles I have all those horrible issues. I don`t have any joy, any fun playing that way even in sqaud battles. As you can guess games vs human players turn to one nervious piece mess.

The best thing to do would be post a video with the online input overlay on. If your two controllers on in sync or close on screen then you have little to no delay. If your controllers are say 6 seconds apart then you would have massive delay.

Even with a 95 score you could still have packet loss. So look at the whole report. Also not sure did you say you are playing wired or not?

But the video will show more of the delay or lack of it to really know what’s going on.  That and if you have all the warning things going off or not.
