Can you change the active family anyways ?

Did you try to wait it out to see if it eventually stops ?

  • No I did not wait but it got up to 8 babies at one point.  I also don't really know how to change active familys.

Go to edit town (if possible) and click on another family. You should then have the option to make that active.

  • Well what I did was save the game the day the baby was suppose to be born. Then I went to edit town, split up household, and moved the pregnant Sim into a different house. I played the father until he got the message saying the baby was born, then I moved everyone back in together.

@MandyYika  This kind of issue is not all that uncommon in TS3, especially with foundations.  You can reset the baby or the adult sim (or both): crtl-shift-C brings up the command console, then type "resetsim firstname lastname" without quotes.  Your sim will be transported to just inside the front door at the appropriate floor level.

If this doesn't work, or if you don't like the reset command, I've found that teleporting the adult will often fix the problem.  (I've only done it when the sim is standing in the foundation on his or her own, though.)  If you have the teleporter that you can purchase with Lifetime Reward points, you can tell the sime to "teleport home" using the cell phone.  If not, bring up the command console and type in "testingcheatsenabled true" without quotes.  Then hold the shift key and click on the ground, preferably somewhere without any building on it, and select "teleport me here."  If the adult is already holding the baby, the baby should be placed elsewhere first.  (I prefer the ground outside, as there are no complications from the foundation.)  If picking up the baby causes the problem to recur, reset the baby and teleport the adult again.

I don't know if you've done it, but this glitch is an excellent example of why the cheat "moveobjects on" should never be used to move a sim.  The glitch can happen without it, but the cheat makes problems like this much more common as well as more difficult to eliminate.

P.S. If you do use testingcheatsenabled true, be sure to turn it off (testingcheatsenabled false) when you're done.
