How to download EA download manager? Or... what

I have gone through the HQ and found some solved questions about my answer, but they don't really... answer my problem. When I try to install Generations it tells me I need to update Sims 3 (I don't know why) but I go to the launcher for Sims 3 and it tells me that the EA download manager isn't installed. In solved asks people say that EADM has been replaced by Origin, which I have. So.... what's the problem and how do I fix it? any help is appreciated, thanks.
