Re: Re: The buydebug cheat dont work!

The testing cheats in Sims 4 are also broken. The buydebug in Sims 3 doesn't work. testingcheatsenabled True doesn't work in the game of Sims 3! GOOD JOB, ORIGIN! YOU BROKE SIMS 3 AND SIMS 4! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO YOUR PAYCHECKS, ORIGIN/EA ?!

@FrostKitty38  You need to enter testingcheatsenabled true before buydebug on will work.  If TCE doesn't work, please post a screenshot of what happens when you try to enter it.

If you're playing Sims 4, you'll need to use different cheats, for example, testingcheats true without the "enabled" part.

@puzzlezaddict  I have posted a screenshot of the error I have gotten while starting up Sims 3. When is Origin gonna start listening to their paychecks and their customers rather than ignoring their customers by giving them excuses after excuses. Repairing doesn't help, updating doesn't help. I've already updated Windows 10 so many times, rebooting the router doesn't have to do with repairing Sims 3. Sims 3 can RUN offline. Rebooting the computer doesn't EXACTLY fix Sims 3. If you have another solution, we would love to hear it. If it's another excuse, we'll be like "Just talk to the hand and we'll not play Sims 3 until this issue is resolved" I'm pretty sure Down Detector has reported issues of Origin not working over on Twitter many times. I've seen APEX and that soccer game get reported by Down Detector saying that "User reports of Origin is experiencing issues, retweet if you are also experiencing issues." I'm pretty sure it's Origin. They broke Sims 3. This is why we simply cannot have nice PC games to play. Every time Origin does a huge update haul for one of their games, it breaks! I've seen this fault with the huge gaming company called Blizzard. All they care about is the money and they gaslight their customers with excuses instead of solutions. All these big gaming companies care about is the money; not their customers. Big gaming companies are all about grabbing money. Sad world that we gamers live in. 😢 ☹️

@FrostKitty38  It sounds like there are a few different issues here.  First, since you can play Sims 3 in offline mode but not while online, try doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of Origin.  Origin isn't down overall, by the way, but that doesn't mean it's working properly for you.

    • Quit Origin, then right-click on the Task Bar and open the Task Manager.  Scroll through looking for Origin entries.  If you find any, click on them and End Task.
    • Clear Origin's cache.
    • Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
    • Launch Revo, select Origin from the list, and click Uninstall.
    • When it finishes uninstalling, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
    • If Revo finds any remaining registry entries, select all, delete, and click Next.
    • Revo will display "Remaining Data and Folders."  Select all of them except for the "Origin Games" folder, if it appears.  (This is where Sims 3 and other Origin games are installed by default.)  Delete the rest.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

Next, download the full Origin installer and run it.  Here's the direct download link:

    http://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe

Be sure to run both the installer and Origin itself as an admin: right-click on each and select "Run as Administrator."

When you say the mods pop-up doesn't show, do you mean the list of mods you'd normally see at the Main Menu?  Do any mods load in-game?

As for the cheats, what do you see when you press crtl-shift-C?  If nothing happens, or it takes a screenshot, you likely have some background software that uses the same key binding; one common example is the Radeon control panel that's installed alongside AMD graphics drivers.  To fix this, you simply need to rebind that function to something else.

@puzzlezaddict Now Sims 3 won't run at all and I've tried everything. In wise words of Jon Taffer "I don't embrace excuses, I embrace solutions." . Just drop the excuses. We would love to hear some solutions.

@FrostKitty38  Do you mean that I should drop the excuses?  I don't work for EA, I do this in my free time, and I can't see inside your system to diagnose the problem.  I will say that this is not a game issue: I personally have run Sims 3 on half a dozen different setups with nothing like this, as have literally millions of other players.

If you'd still like help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post, and also post a screenshot of any error you get when you try to play.
