Re: Deathfish Isn't Working

@FreddiCuddles  Are you saying "inspect water" shows only red herring and vampire fish instead of vampire and deathfish?  What happens if you actually try to fish after midnight?  I'm not sure what's going on here, as I've never seen it before, but it would be a good idea to delete the five cache files in your TS3 game folder in Documents.  For reference, they are:

  • CASPartCache.package
  • compositorCache.package
  • scriptCache.package
  • simCompositorCache.package
  • socialCache.package

It's a good idea to clear them frequently; many of us do so after every game session.

If that doesn't help, try evicting this sim and saving a copy to the bin.  (You don't have to save the game afterwards for the bin copy to be preserved.)  Then load a new game and place the sim in it, and send the sim to the graveyard to see if the deathfish show up.  This will help narrow down where the problem is.

Yes, inspecting the water only yields vampire fish and red herring, even between midnight and 5:00 am. The deathfish is visible in that time period, but doesn't show up in the inspect water. And I am using a PS3 (I probably should have mentioned that in the original post, my bad).

@FreddiCuddles  I honestly don't know anything about the PS3 version of TS3, so I would really be guessing.  I don't even know if you have an Edit Town function, but if you do, it might help to save the graveyard to the bin (or whatever the equivalent is), bulldoze the lot, and replace the graveyard.  That tends to unstick things on the PC end.

A cursory google suggests that your sim might need, or at least benefit from, buying the Collection Helper (Collector?) and setting it to "fish."  A high mood may also help.
