So i just bought the sims 3 starter pack off of origin (the started pack includes *the sims 3 *the sims 3 high end lot stuff *the sims 3 late night) These are all new games that i downloaded onto my macbook air, unfortunately I'm unable to play any saved games because my launcher keeps telling me i can't login until i have the updated version of the games which is update 1.67. When i click update, it starts to update then stops and won't move, i have to force quit out of my game to do this, nothing is working, and its a new game? HELP

Hi

What level are you currently patched to? If you are lower than 1.67 but the launcher won't work for updating then you will need to download and install the superpatch manually. See the instructions below.

In terms of logging in - if you can't log in to the Launcher then there is another chance to log in once you've started up the game.

Manual superpatch

Many simmers find that patching their game via the Game Updates tab of the Launcher does not work properly. It is then better to download and apply the manual superpatch. It is important to download the Mac version rather than the PC version, and to pick the right one for your region. Be aware that if you are using a disc you need to choose the correct 'regional' file but if you are using digital download through Origin then you should use the file designated 'region 7'.

Instructions and the links to the downloads can be found in the Mac section of the forums at thesims.com here:

If you use any mods or custom content, be sure to remove them before patching.
