Re: Invisible after vacation

@Sunny_Rio  I'd like to add that it is never a good idea to travel directly from one vacation world to another.  If there's a reason to try anyway, it's necessary to go back to the first vacation world before going home, e.g. travel from A to B to C to B to A rather than A-B-C-A.  This is true with or without mods.

I don't think you can, not from a real vacation to another real vacation, like France to Egypt.  Last time I came home from France and tried to go straight back (my 3 day limit had run out with no visa points yet), it said I was "still recovering from my last vacation" - like people "recover" from something fun!

I wasn't treating the future as a vacation, but I guess the game coding does, it's a "different world".  Although I'm not sure what's so special about the default world which lets you travel from it to anywhere, but not from an anywhere to an anywhere else.

I couldn't do A-B-C-B-A.  I went from normal to future to France, then my holiday expired and it sent me back to normal, not future, without asking me.  Travelling to the future and back sorted it, as though the game had forgotten to do something because of me missing a stage out.  Not sure why, since what was missing was my body, which is the same in all three worlds, same clothes too.

@Sunny_Rio  NRaas Traveler makes it possible to travel from one vacation world to another.  As a side note, if your sims are traveling at all, I highly recommend the mod.  It replaces the somewhat fragile travel transition with its own more stable version and fixes some common errors like a broken Adventure board.  It also comes with other convenient options, but it works without any user input.

The main reason to travel A-B-C-B-A rather than A-B-C-A is that with the latter, the game can get confused about what the is' homeworld is.  I would guess that what you saw was because a trip to the future is coded differently than other vacations, but when your sims' proper vacation was over, the game booted them back to their original homeworld.

In general, an invisible sim happens because of a broken outfit assignment, not necessarily the outfit itself but their assignment to it.  Changing the outfit, as in, having them spin into something else, usually fixes it.  I'm not saying that's what the problem was in your case—yours might well be a different problem that only looks similar—just mentioning it for reference for anyone else reading this.

I think I'll stick to A-B-A-C-A, as in always come home to the present before going anywhere else.

I seem to have NRAAS traveller already installed, I can't remember why, maybe it came with something, I don't think I've set it up in any way.  Will it help just by being there?  Should I set some things in it?  I regularly swap between present (Islands), future (which is a different place for some reason), and the 3 foreign destinations.

The clothes isn't what went wrong, first thing I did was trying changing outfit a few times, didn't work.

@Sunny_Rio  Traveler fixes the broken travel transition and adventure boards just by virtue of being there and loading in-game.  You don't need to change its settings; any time your sims travel, the game will use the Traveler features where applicable.  You might want to change its settings if you'd like to allow pregnant sims or toddlers to travel, or you don't want sims in the vacation worlds to age, or something like that, but it's not necessary.

Ok I'll leave it as is and travel more simply, returning to present home first.

I remember why I have traveller now, it was to turn off those damn taxis.  My Sim is athletic and runs and swims everywhere.

I do.  I'm about to play, I'll check the traveller settings are to my liking.
