Re: Game crashes 5 minutes after loading in.

@pr1sm0999  If you're referring to this error:

Event Name: APPCRASH
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:
P1: TS3.exe
P2: 0.2.0.32
P3: 568d4bac
P4: MSVCR80.dll
P5: 8.0.50727.9680
P6: 6090c909
P7: c0000005
P8: 000172d7
P9:
P10:

What it means is that Sims 3 (TS3.exe), version 0.2.0.32 (Origin/EA App install) crashed due to faulting module MSVCR80.dll, and the type of error is an access violation (c0000005).  MSVCR80 is a component of the 2005 VC++ runtimes, which Sims 3 uses, but this doesn't necessarily mean that the runtime itself is corrupt.  It's also possible the system or game is using it incorrectly.

Still, the place to start is by uninstalling and reinstalling the x86 runtime.  Hit Windows key-R, click Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click on the 2005 version (it won't say x86, but that's what it is; the x64 version will have that in its name), and uninstall.  You can download a fresh copy here:

You only need the x86 version, not the other two.  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

The other errors in your dxdiag are generic Windows errors, possibly innocuous, but it's worth running a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files anyway:

  • Hit Windows key-X
  • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
  • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
  • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
  • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
  • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
  • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
  • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.
