Re: Need help running downloaded RTSS on my PC

@tsanhae  It sounds like you moved the RTSS download to a location that OneDrive is syncing, for example perhaps the Desktop, which is one of the folders OneDrive syncs by default.  That's fine, delete it anyway, and download a new copy.  This time, right-click and Extract, then run the installer from there without moving it to the desktop or anywhere else.

If RTSS were already installed, and you tried to install it again, you'd get a message to that effect.

I deleted and downloaded again from the RTSS site. From the download window that pops open and says: C:\Users\(my name)\Downloads\[Guru3D.com]-RTSS ⚽.zip\, a right-click does not give the option to extract, but there is an icon at the top of the downloads box that says extract with a blue line above it so I click that. Then a box pops open saying: Copy to C;\Users\(my name)\Downloads\.......and here I have to click "ok" to copy it, so I do. After that it shows up as a zip yellow folder in my downloads history on my PC. I right click on that, and there it does give me the option to extract here so I do. The RTSSSetup736 "application" shows as listed . Now whether I highlight this "application" then double-click it or right-click on it, its installer window pops open and it asks me whether I want to allow this app to make changes to my computer and I say "yes." Then the installer/set up box pops open and I proceed to install until it says: "The same version of RTSS is already installed, do you want to continue installation anyway?" and I say no because I've done this many times already now. Can you tell me where I'm going wrong please?

@tsanhae  RTSS is already installed, so you don't need to do anything except open it.  If you're not sure where you installed it, it's probably in Program Files, but you can search in Windows for RivaTuner.  Then just double-click the executable, which will be the file with a special logo.

Once you've found it, you can drag the icon to the Task Bar, which will create a shortcut you can use to launch it.  Or right-click the icon and select Send to > Desktop, which will also create an alias.
