Re: Sims 3 low graphics using Intel's Iris xe graphic card

@4mbm40wo949x  The GraphicsCards and GraphicsRules files need to be somewhere, or the game wouldn't launch at all.  What kind of install is this?  Here are the default locations for the .sgr files in EA App and Steam installs:

C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

If you chose a custom location, look there instead.

If you do find the .sgr files but can't figure out how to edit them, let me know.

By the way, your laptop had very little free memory when you last launched Sims 3, according to the DeviceConfig.  That can and will lead to performance issues—the game can easily use more than the 1.8 GB RAM that was available at launch.  Given that your laptop only has 8 GB memory installed, it would be best not to run anything alongside the game, and to restart immediately before playing.

If you restart your laptop and more than 4 GB memory is in use already, let me know.  You can see overall RAM use in the Task Manager.
