My Sims 3 codes were stolen

I am absolutely distraught, after owning the Sims 3 and 19 packs for the last 10+ years, I finally have a computer capable of running all packs together and 5 of my codes won't redeem when I try to put them on the EA app for future convenience. One of the codes (straight from the booklet inside the disc case) actually says that the code is invalid.

I have contact 2 different EA support advisors and both of them have been incredibly unhelpful. They have verified with me that an account (not mine) has redeemed four of my codes but basically said "sorry you've been stolen from, you'll have to repurchase those packs though as the codes have already been redeemed once" and they won't do anything about the account that used my codes or even help me add the one code that for some reason says is invalid.

I feel like I'm going in circles, Sims 3 is such a huge deal for me and my collection is my pride and joy, I know it might sound daft but I'm truly inconsolable that EA aren't willing to do anything about a literal theft.

Hi! So I own all of my packs as physical copies bought new, so disc and code completely untouched. Previously before I had my computer I would install the games straight on to my laptop, not through EA or Origin as it wasn't a requirement at the time and I didn't care to figure out how to use Origin, so technically the codes have never been assigned to an account/email address/profile.

It does sound like those codes have been redeemed previously by you, potentially on a different EA account than the one you're using now. This isn't something we can verify or look into on the forums as we don't have access to your account information, but you can contact live support again and provide your codes so they can help locate where these packs are registered.

You will need to verify ownership of that other EA account, and then live support can explore some options with you. I'd recommend reaching back out to that team from the site here through a brand new help request.

Hey, I already did that twice with two separate advisors through the help request and both of them already verified the codes have been used on another EA account that isn't mine (they told me the EAID on the account and I confirmed it wasn't mine). As I said previously, I haven't ever had an EA account before this one because sims 3 never required you to log into Origin or EA, and if they had been redeemed on my one and only account (this one) then they would still be registered on my EA App. I have definitely verified that they have been used by somebody else that isn't me and both of the advisors I spoke to closed my case after telling me 'yeah sorry you got stollen from, you can just repurchase them'

Just to reiterate, those codes have not been redeemed by myself. I cannot stress enough this account I am posting this issue on is my only account, as EA/Origin accounts weren't needed when I initially bought the sims 3. Those codes should technically be completely new and unused as they have not been redeemed by an account that is my own. Myself and both of the advisors have already reached the conclusion after confirming my account information that those codes have been stollen from me. My concern is that they told me they won't report/deactivate the account and they told me to 'simply repurchase the games' as if I have £89 lying around :(

  • slypickleee  Did you ever use the Sims 3 Store or Exchange?  If so, you would have needed to register at least one code in order to gain access.  You could have used a different email address and also chosen a username that was not related to the email.  Registering a code on that site counts too, since it's tied into the same overall EA database.

The problem here is that if you can't gain access to the other account, for example if it were tied to an email you still had access to so you could reset the password, there's nothing the EA support reps can do to help you.  They don't have the power to remove codes from one account to allow them to be used on another, and deactivating one account doesn't free up the codes either.

Nope! Never touched the sims 3 store or any online sims 3 service, again, never linked an account to sims/ea/origin at all at any point. it was just me and my sims 3 discs. The thing I'm concerned about is we have verified that the account the codes were linked to isn't my own, and since I've never had another account that means my codes have been stollen and used by somebody else. I was expecting them to at least report the account that used my codes because it's still a theft.

Just to clear up any confusion - I was too young at the time to have any online accounts/bank account. I physically wasn't able to link a card to the EA app/sims 3 store to purchase anything online because I didn't have my own money. I bought all of my sims 3 packs as physical copies by going and picking them out myself with pocket money I had saved. I had one email at the time (the one linked to this account) set up by my parents for family to keep in touch with me as I was too young to have a phone. Wouldn't have even known how to set up accounts through the sims store/ea etc. and most importantly, the 2 ea advisors verified my account vs the thief and have confirmed it isnt my account and the codes were clearly stollen.

I tried to login using my other email addresses onto the EA app yesterday just to see if another account was linked and they both said the address wasn't recognised/prompted me to create an account. I keep a secure log of all emails/passwords/account information as well as logs of digital transactions so I can guarantee with 100% certainty if I had made another account/made a digital store purchase, the info would be there but it's not because I never did :(
