In career, AI level 100, in my JWRC season and (new career) WRC2 season across many events, quitting in-between or not. Sometimes WR speed fast sometimes minutes off pace. Usually fast in early stages, slow in late stages, never noticed it the other way around.

Another thing, AI seems impossibly fast in acceleration heavy areas (think start of a stage just straight), but almost always loses time in long high speed stretches even against default setup gearing.

Apparently the progress bar doesn’t show the true pace of the opponent, but just constant average speed. I assume to each checkpoint, after which the next section is again averaged. A bit we questionable to make it that way, but here we are.
