I use an Xbox controller on PC and even though it detects the input, the keyboard/mouse input is also detected simultaneously. This causes weird interactions within the menu/in game. Usually when a PC game detects controller input, it will 'hide' the mouse cursor preventing it from interacting with anything on the screen. 

Do you have Steam running in the background? I have found that when Steam is running and minimized I get controller issues in anything run through EA app where it keeps trying to switch to KBM. It's happened with Madden, FIFA, and now PGA. Exiting Steam fixes it for me.

Thank you for this - closing steam fixed this for me - was driving me nuts.  

 i use a Logitech 710 game pad it works but dose not show in setting . also it dose pratices swings when trying to do 1/2 swings . this in on a win 11 computer with MS drivers logitech has not made win 11 drivers for the 710 controler yet ? win 11 dose see it as the 710 in the usb add setting
