Driver EXP System Proposed Changes + A More In-depth Breakdown of the Post-Race
*WARNING. THIS POST IS LLOONNGG.*
Some of it may be out dated as of posting, I'm unsure.
At the time, I was typing this all out in an AARAVA YouTube comment (That's where I was originally brainstorming) and then lost about 70% of what I had. Thankfully I was able to get some of it back, but had to cobble the rest back together in a Notepad file.. and then I got the finished product!
The suggestions will help flesh out the EXP System a little.. right now, it feels like EXP is just being THROWN at you in all categories, but you're not really being SHOWN why.. adding in the things below will help flesh out the "Expanded Details" Screen, and help provide a better overall view, and understanding of WHY you are gaining or losing EXP in each category. If you actually read through it all, please give some feedback on how YOU would like to see the changes I came up with changed.. I'd like to compare everyone's opinions!!!
These would be great to see in the EXP Breakdown Pannel at the end of Each Race/Session
DISCLAIMER: The Numbers I used are Approximates of what COULD be added or lost for EXP Values.. It took me HOURS just to theory craft how I'd LIKE the numbers to come out.. and then to try and balance them.. with no knowledge of how the system ACTUALLY worked (I still don't).. And I am NO MATHEMATICIAN.

Only took 3 hours to get the math somewhat acceptable.. and then another 2 to type it all back out because I closed the wrong window. : )
*New thought as of today, June 17, 2024: Before we begin, the Rivalries shouldn't be giving as much EXP as they are. Winning the Rivalry should give you a lump EXP Sum in an email, and you can assign the XP yourself to whatever stat you want after you accept the "Reward" in the attachment. When you "Accept the Reward", you will then bring you to an EXP Assignment Screen. Each "Reward" will have an "Assignment Cap" to each Attribute, and that varies between the Difficulty and Type of rivalry you win.
Example: I win a Championship Point Rivalry against P6 in the standings. That "Reward" will give a Lump XP Value of say, 1500. Instead of being able to put all 1500 into PACE, the max value the Reward allowed to be assigned in PACE is 50% of whatever the total is. Still gives more in ONE selected Stat, while still spreading it elsewhere..
Bottom line, Rivalry EXP is still too high. On to the older thoughts. *

All XP Calculations hold the following 2 Conditions;
1: XP *GAINED* will always round to the NEAREST whole number.
2: XP *LOST* will always take the extra XP, never rounded to keep it. (If between -X.01 and -X.99, you will always lose the Extra XP)
3: Assists DO NOT prevent XP Lost, but WILL NOT Provide the suggested Bonus XP.
4: Examples are given as extremes, to show how the calculation could affect each category given a BAD day.
Race Craft:
-Team Expected Distance from Racing Line:
-XP Gained or lost pending how close to the line you are as dictated by the TEAM. Expectation set is calculated by BOTH your Race Craft AND Focus Stat, and standing in the championship race.
-Calculated is categorized by the following Multipliers; Expected: 1.25, Closer: 1.75, Further: -1.5.
Example of a 20 Lap Race: ((1.25x3) + (1.75x2) + (-1.5x15)) x20 = -305xp LOST (If between -X.01 and -X.99, you will always lose the Extra XP)
CALCULATIONS NOTE: -Racing Line ALWAYS ON will only lose 50% (-305 = -152.5. Losing 153xp). -Racing Line (Corners Only) will lose 75% (-305 = -228.75 Losing 229xp). -Racing Line OFF will carry the full XP Loss
-Lockups:
([Total#]/[Laps Completed]) x [Difficulty] = XP Lost
Example: (85 lockups/35Laps) x110 = -242.85 (-243xp lost)
NOTE: Full ABS will not calculate the loss, 50% lost for partial.
-Wheelspin/Loss of traction:
Time spent spinning under acceleration and or sliding the car through turns through out the race, causing more Tyre wear.
([Total Time (Seconds)] / [Laps]) x [Difficulty] = y.
Example: (200seconds/35Laps) x110 = 628.57 (629xp Lost)
Notes:
-Full TC will not calculate the loss, 50% lost for partial, 100% for OFF.
-Full TC will not calculate the loss, 50% lost for partial, 100% for OFF.
-WET CONDITIONS;
1) will NOT contribute to Total time for Partial TC, 2) only apply 50% of the Spin/Traction time to the tally. (Ex: slip for 6 seconds, it adds 3.)
Awareness:
Points to ADD, and to lose here.
-Exp gained for EACH Successful Battle:
XP Gained or lost pending how close to Other Drivers you are as dictated by the Team. "Safe Battling Expectation" is calculated by BOTH your Race Craft AND Awareness Stat, and Your standing in the championship race.
Calculation includes; Multiplier, Pace of Takeover (How FAR, and how LONG it took in total [Distance/Seconds]), how many corners it lasted [Corners], Overall of the Driver you're battling (Example: 89 overall=0.89). The total of that is then Multiplied by your Difficulty (Ex: 50= 0.5, 110= 1.1, etc).
-Multipliers; Acceptable: 1.00, Closer: 1.25, Further: -0.25, WAY TIGHT BUT SUCCESSFUL = 1.75
Calculation: ([Multiplier] x (Distance/Time)([Turns])([Opposing Driver Overall])) x [Difficulty] = XP Gained.
Example: (((1.25 x (400/20)( 3 )(0.89)) x 1.1) = 73xp gained.
I was close to the average set by the team ( 1 ), a Battle over 400m lasting 20 Seconds (400/20) [I only just now realized the numbers I chose..], and it lasted through ( 3 ) turns. The Opponent was an 89 Overall, Driving on 110 Difficulty.
-Exp **LOSS CALCULATIONS**:
-If Contact/Damage occurred between cars during said Battle, the multipliers are REVERSED.
-If given a penalty, (Time in Seconds) is added and calculated AT THE END of the Original Calculation **before the difficulty is applied**
Ex: (((-0.75)x(400/20)x🏀x(0.89)x10)x1.1 = 440.55 (441xp Lost)
I was FURTHER away than was Expected by the team, (-0.75) for the 400m, 20 second long battle (400/20). I made the pass after the 3rd Turn ( 3 ), but I made contact between turns 1&2, and received a 10 Second Penalty. Penalties are COSTLY..
NOTES:
-If deemed WIDE, and a COLLISION causes a warning, The Multiplier is changed to (x-1.25).
-EXP LOST in this calculation can be NEGATED, *IF*;
-The over take is unsuccessful,
-Position given back in time, (Whatever the Race control time given to do so is, regardless if if you are told to or not.)
-Another Pass on the same driver cannot be made after giving the position back and tucking behind the other car until x Seconds.** (You were AWARE contact was made, and gave it back. *SPORTSMANSHIP*.)
-XP lost can not be negated if a given Warning (Track limits, Contact, etc) while overtaking that results a Penalty of any kind. Time given for the resulting penalty will be calculated accordingly.
Pace:
Points gained/lost should be factoring in;
-Times off track (Since you're going too fast at speed to stay on track): [Set XP Lost] x [x] / [Total Laps Completed] = y Example: (-150x42)/20 = 315xp Lost
-Laps completed at or below expected time. (Expected: 1.25, Faster: 1.75, Slower: -1.25)
Example of a 20 Lap Race: ((1.5x3) + (2x2) + (-1.25x15)) x20 = -366.5 (367xp Lost)
I lost XP because I was SLOWER overall through out the race than what the TEAM had expected. (Note: Position is not included for calculation.)
I may have gained 12 Positions, but being slower than the set team goals should carry an IMPACT.
Finishing Position shouldn't be enough to base Pace off of by itself, especially with all the Goals mid race, and selected goals with your people.
