Steam was updated due to a small configuration error where some files were missing for certain editions of the game. EA App did not have any configuration issues.
What we have seen so far is no clear correlation between why some users cannot launch at all. No clear indicator - it is regardless of GPU, platform (EA/Steam), OS (Win 10/11).
If this had been a problem in the months of QA and dev then clearly we would have fixed it - so I'm jumping in here to see what I can do to support you all and apologise for the bad experience, and to help my dev team out with as much information as I can so we can eliminate this and get you onto the grid and enjoying the game. Please keep sharing and speaking out - and if anyone gets the game up, or can identify a "before" and "after" that will help massively as we narrow down why this is happening for some of our players so consistently.
The DXDiags are very useful so thanks for those - and while I can't analyse the dump personally, I have already passed onto the strike team for this issue for them to crack on with in the morning.
I got the same error, ive tried all the stuff and it wont work
There is m dxdiag- @cdm_slumbdog Hi, I think that the cases are different. In my case the error dont says about Origin. Its "Unexpected error while recovering or restoring database -509."
I just bought the Steam version and have no issues running the game at all. Part of the reason people pay for EA Play Pro is to play games ahead of the release date. EA should really just give vouchers to EA Play Pro members to buy/play the game from Steam at this point.

Does F1 24 stay running? Do you have the running file?
- When the game is running there is a file created in the game directory, accessible via right-click on the game in Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files
- It's called F1_24.exe.[number].running and can be opened in notepad. Post the contents here if you have it
@cdm_slumbdog unfortunately, with an uptime of only 5 seconds, it doesn't seem to have even reached that point in execution where that would be created.
please see the screenshot of my install location attached- cdm_slumbdog1 year ago

That's interesting - you are unable to play the EA Play Pro entitlement, but can launch on Steam. That's good and bad - good you can play the game and that you aren't having the issue some others are. Bad that the EA Play Pro entitlement was causing problems, I can follow that up as it will be tracked elsewhere. I'll share what I learn. Thank you for coming back to post about your experiences.
- @cdm_slumbdog group of us tried couple of things in discord.
We all have different manufacturers of gpu (not gpu related)
Some of us have UEFI on and some off (not boot related)
Not cpu related .. basically we can say it is not component related.
Next.. we have talked about logitech. Tried uninstalling it and reinstalling.. different versions and nothing helps. Not logitech related for us (had to make sure just in case).
We have talked about inputs in the pc (not input related)
We have tried reinstalling AC and installing all certificates and giving ownership rights to the ac but nothing happens.
Why I think it is AC related is because every time I press verify game files it finds 3 files (ALWAYS THE SAME) and it says that it will be reacquired.
Files are: EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe, EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.dll, preloader_l.dll
They get downloaded but after download when I press play same thing happens. If I try to verify my files again on the steam it says that same 3 files are missing and it redownloads again.. basically infinite loop.
I strongly believe it is AC related since I had the exact same issue on installed FIFA. Uses the same AC.
In env viewer it says EAAntiCheat could not find origin directory.. all the pointers are pointing to the one thing (towards AC). I don't know how it is not related when multiple instances show that it is related and multiple logs show that AC is the issue. Can you deep dive into this?
Might there be a depricated path env variable set up in AC to look for something that does not exist? Are some of us, users, stuck in some cached cdn from steam and keep getting the same file?
I have tried enabling outbound connection on firewall but that doesn't help. Inbound are okay.
It is not AV connected at all. Disabled and still the same issue persists. - AntiCheatWard1 year ago

Hi Karlo3110,
Posting on behalf of the EA anticheat team here.
The repair file issue you encounter is because we deployed an update to EA anticheat which you successfully download, and the repair checks against the files that the game shipped with. So it's just downgrading those files.
Additionally, your other post about the "Can't find origin" message from the EA anticheat service in Windows Event Viewer logs is similarly benign, it should just be a warning not an error, all the same: we don't require users to be on Origin for EA anticheat work, we fully support titles on EA app, Epic Games Store, or Steam, etc. Thanks for calling out the message spam though, we'll fix that in a future update.
Going to the root of the issue: I checked out your telemetry in our backend, EA anticheat is properly starting the F1_24.exe game binary, but the game is crashing on startup.
Have you already provided a DxDiag?
Notably some users with similar crashes have seen some success with updating their Intel graphics drivers - I can't see which GPU you have at the moment to help rootcause this, but anything you can provide to help the game studio fix the game crash would be helpful.
@AntiCheatWard
is there any kind of additional logging we can enable in the main binary?and are the windows minidumps useful?

@evil_mercenary
Hey, yep, those crash dumps are meaningful for chasing down issues if we don't have a handle on them yet.
If you're crashing in anything anticheat related, the crash dumps we generally write to C:\ProgramData\eaanticheat\Crashdumps, and if for some reason we don't have permission to do that, we'll write them to your temp directory (Usually accessible just via %temp% in Windows Explorer).
Otherwise, anything from the game is fine.
The trace ID command that Codemasters shared earlier is enough for us to associate your specific telemetry to that trace so we can investigate issues.
It persists though, so once you run and are done, you should remove the traceid launch parameter to not pollute your telemetry, we should reserve the trace ID setting for actual debugging. - @AntiCheatWard I don't have intel cpu nor graphics drivers .. I am on amd (cpu) and nvidia (gpu) so it won't be working for me as I have updated my drivers, done clean install and everything is up to date
Thank you for reviewing and answering. It just makes us wonder since we don't have a view into the backend of the stuff. - AntiCheatWard1 year ago

I understand the frustration, no worries at all. We want you to have fun and play too. 🙂
You noted you're on AMD.
I saw another user in the forums post that when they rolled back their AMD Adrenaline version (so not an update, this time!) that this helped them.
Can you confirm what version of AMD Adrenaline you're running?
And if you go back to an older version, let's say, 24.4.1, does that help at all?
Let me know, thanks! We have found a solution. User under name msKariy who was on discord from this forum found a solution:

This works for F1 too. Did it and now it perfectly launches.- AntiCheatWard1 year ago

@Karlo3110 Nice find! I'll make sure it's noted internally too, in case this is something we need to investigate further on the studio or on my team's side. - darraghom171 year agoNewcomer
That doesnt work for me
- @darragh_om17 Me neither, i've already updated G Hub also
Tried a lot of methods but none work...
I veb been trying since launch The solution mentioned doesn't work for me.
The same behaviour still happens.
Please don't let this investigation be closed just yet
Same here. The workaround does NOT work here, so please do not report this thread as Solved.
Unchanged behaviour also here, does not cvisibly change anything.Or did I miss something in the settings below?
Also: as an IT security professional I have some issues with disabling OS security just as a game on my sons laptop apparently needs to behave as malware. So even if it would work, this is not really a solution IMHO.
Try also installing origin from the official website:
