ERS lost its original power and use

When deploying ers it does give a "boost" but the problem im having is that when in a race and I use the hotlap mode...this ers mode doesnt reflect any change in speed and laptimes unless i deploy "overtake" manually during the race... 

sometime ill conserve bat3 for a lap or 2 and deploy a "hotlap" just to create a bigger gap or to close one...but now running medium ERS compared to hotlap makes no difference in laptimes and also the inteval times as i could previosuly see im starting to create a gap...
