Re: Manual with Clutch

Hi

I can't get the settings for the gearbox to show manual with clutch.  I have simulation settings for the race start to be manual (see pic).  The clutch works ok at the race start, but if I go off track, there is no longer a clutch.  I have been able to change the settings in Weekly Events to manual with clutch but if I can't practice it, I ain't gonna use that setting when it matters.  Am I losing assist points in the weekly event?

Video of the settings for the gearbox:  Cant get manual with clutch in solo Grand Prix mode or Career mode - YouTube

I hope someone can help.

Allan

There is only a clutch function at the start, it is a button function. Default mapping is to the up shifter which you hold when instructed and release at lights out for a manual start.

So, in summary. Clutch is only used at start and pitstop (same mapping).

    Hi SteveJackson,

    Thank you for your response.

I have probably posted this question without all the relevent information.

I need to post a picture of 'Gearbox: Manual with Clutch'

I will try to get that at the coming 'Weekly Event- Grand Prix - USA'

I beleive there should be 4 options in settings

    -Manual with Clutch

    -Manual

    -Manual with suggested gear

    -Automatic

I have an old copy of F1 2020.  I will post what I am trying to achieve Manual with Clutch F12020 - YouTube

So, it was there in F1 2020, and I have only seen the option 'Manual with Clutch' in the Weekly Event in F1 22.

I am using a wheel and pedals. VR.  Computer.  Steam.

    Cheers

    Allan

Are you the Steve Jackson who drives for Williams? F1 22 - EA Forum Championship - Answer HQ

I should just probably just go ahead and accept your solution I suppose.

But I am pretty sure I did see manual and clutch in Weekly Event - Grand Prix, or maybe it was Weekly Event - Challenge.

Yep. F1 22 doesn't have classic car content. There is no need for a manual clutch so comparing it to F1 2020 is where you are going wrong?

    Hi Steve Jackson,

There are many times where I go wrong.

I haven't played 2020 for ages only to confirm the last post, but I am sure I saw 'Manual with Clutch' recently in F1 22.

After USA and Mexico there must be a Challenge, so I can check both Grand Prix and Challenge.

I will try to confirm 'Manual and Clutch' in either 'Weekly Challenge' or 'Weekly Race"

I know the mind plays tricks and memory is flippant.

But give me a month to check myself!

    Cheers

    Hi SteveJackson,

I found the setting again, but it didn't do what I thought it would do, again.  This time I found it in Time Trial.  Again, it didn't do what I thought it should.  I think if I stop on track without the clutch pressed the car engine should stall.  There has been a lot of changes in F1 that I don't know about.  I heard one commentator comment when someone went off track that he was able to keep the engine running, I assumed he meant by holding in the clutch, but that option doesn't seem to be available in F122 game.

    I found this online;

"The anti-stall system on an F1 car triggers the onboard computer to automatically engage the clutch of the car when the revs drop too low. This prevents the engine from stalling and gives the driver a chance to keep the engine running, useful at the race start or after a spin."

In real life F1 do they need to depress the clutch in a spin?  So, it can be released to get moving again?  I read online somewhere that one clutch pedal is 100% and the other 50% in F1.  Do the latest Ferrari's have a clutch? I didn't see any in the pictures, but I am not sure if they have clutches on the steering wheel?

If the Anti-Stall feature is part of F1 22 Game, then shouldn't we have to release the clutch to get moving again after a spin?

I went back again to find the setting "Manual with Clutch" where I last saw it, but it just disappeared again.  It would only go to Manual.  Like you said with the older style cars in F1 2020 It must be eft over coding from then that just randomly pops up in F1 22.

But there is the pick... at least I know I wasn't going mad.
