How do you even know you got one-shot in the first place since you obviously didnt check the death recap screen, which would have told you exactly all damage sources? It seems to me that you just got killed very quickly, which could have happened because you got hit by many ppl at the same time. Also, many people overestimate the protection of a purple/golden armor. The difference between a white and golden armor is literally just 3.5 ≈ 4 body shots from a R301, which takes 0.33 seconds to fire.
