Re: Mass Effect 2 won't connect to cerberus network. DLC does not appear

@SlowMovingSloth

Which DLCs don't work?

If this DLCs,

    Genesis
    Arrival
    Overlord
    Lair of the Shadow Broker
    Kasumi – Stolen Memory
    Firepower Pack
    Aegis Pack
    Equalizer Pack
    Alternate Appearance Pack 1 (Garrus, Thane, Jack)
    Alternate Appearance Pack 2 (Tali, Grunt, Miranda))

 are among them, did you purchased this DLCs?

  • For me at least the dlc that does not work are the Arc Projector, Lair of the Shadow Broker, Recon Hood and the Normandy Crash Site. It use to be all the DLC however.

    @SlowMovingSloth

    What ME2 edition do you own?

    Do you own two different ME2 version or do you own the same edition of the game twice? (for example also on steam?)

    Did you purchased "Lair of the Shadow Broker"?

    The three other DLCs are Cerberus network DLCs and should be accessible for free.

    Click in Origins Game Library on ME2 > Extra content.

    What is the status of this DLCs there?

    If you can't install or download them there close Origin completely.

    Go to your ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\BIOGame\DLC" folder and move this folders to a different location:

    DLC_CER_Arc  (Arc Projector)

    DLC_EXP_Part01  (Lair of the Shadow Broker)

    DLC_PRO_Pepper02 (Recon hood)

    DLC_UNC_Moment01 (Normandy Crash site)

    Start Origin and install them from the "Extra content" section again.

  • I only have the game through Origins, it was updated to the deluxe edition with Origins Access. All the extra content is downloaded. I surprisingly got the game to work. Well at least it says I am not missing DLC. However textures are missing and characters/armor have black triangles appearing on them. Not gonna lie I tries using a texture mod (ALOT was it's name) in hops to fill in the gaps. However when that is applied to the game it goes back to saying I the "oh sign in to the right account to get this DLC". I am at a loss at what to do. As of now I removed the mod and have access to the DLC but as a result I have triangles. I'm sure I messed something up somewhere.

    @SlowMovingSloth

    You really should have told me that from the beginning. 😉

    ALOT alters the DLC content as well, so you never get them authorised if you don't replace the "binkw32.dll" and add the "binkw23.dll" to your ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries" folder. (That btw is stated in the ALOT installation guide pretty clearly.)

    You can download this DLLs from here. > unzip > put them in the directory listed above > override.

    Now you can install ALOT and the DLCs will work. (If you repair the game the DLLs will be replaced with the original ones.)

    If you want to troubleshoot the graphic glitches without ALOT let me know.

  • I'm sorry! But thank you I will try that tonight and see if it works! Hopefully I won't screw it up!
