- @toeegg My understanding is that its the latter. Classic caps at 30 and the remaster mode allows you level up to 60 in one playthrough.

I believe the devs said you can reach level 60 in 1 playthrough now.
My understanding is that the level scaling is the same in legendary and classic except for the number. So level 30 in legendary is equivalent to level 60 in classic.
I haven't played it yet, though, so I'm not 100% sure.

The way I understood it, is that classic is exactly the same as the OG, where you would need two playthroughs to hit the cap, and the legendary means you can hit the cap and get max bonuses in ME2 in one playthrough.
I asked a question about this earlier, as well. I’ve seen a lot of (different) guesses about how each mode works but no one seems to know for sure. It would be nice to get some kind of official clarification so people could make an informed decision when starting out the game. My suspicion is that both give you the same amount of point in the end (you get more per level in legendary). And both can be maxed in one play through. I suspect the change was just to make the same number of levels in mass effect 1 as mass effect 2. But again, that’s just my guess. It would be great to know for sure.
