Re: Is the Mouse Acceleration & Dampening Fix Incoming?

Highly unlikely.

There's so many bad design decisions, oversights, and some awful bugs, on the PC release, it's clear it wasn't thoroughly tested and that management don't care much for it. Many of the issues that plagued the original games are still present. If they couldn't be bothered to fix those issues prior to release, I'd be extremely surprised if they cared to fix them now.

ME2 has forced mouse acceleration, as well btw, like the original game had.

Modders will be the only ones to actually fix these issues.

  • @krismate Yep, the mods can't come soon enough. This is really the only thing killing my enjoyment of ME1 at the moment. I thought that you could at least disable the mouse acceleration in the config files for ME2 and ME3, though. Is that not the case?

@aleksthegreat3 It seems the config files are no longer the "bioengine.ini." etc. files that the original games used. Those files do exist but they're just the engine defaults. All the commands in those files don't match up with the in-game settings either. Editing the files seem to have zero effect as well, unless I'm doing something wrong. There is a "gamersettings.ini," file which does appear to list the correct commands (it accurately lists the settings I have changed in game such as resolution, mouse sensitivity, and certain graphical settings I turned off) but adding commands for mouse dampening or mouse smoothing and labelling them with "false" does not seem to remove any of the acceleration in-game. Again, I could be missing something or doing something wrong, though.

Also, from what I've read it sounds like there are settings stored in a separate config (coalesced.bin I think?) file, that's not as easy to edit. I'm not 100% sure.
