Thx - after re-reading my post I realize it was not clear and motion was the wrong terminology. I was thinking more along the lines of shifting players. An example would be:
In an empty set I shift the HB back to the backfield - once I have made that shift I then cannot shift another player or put said player in motion to snap the ball.
I would only have one player moving at the time of the snap (an NFL rule and as such I should comply) but I would think I should be able to shift a player then set a player in motion.
In another forum in which I brought this up someone suggested that using an audible to change formations meets my requirements but that is not necessarily always feasible. Never mind the fact that is an audible to a completely different play whereas I am looking to change a formation via shift then have the ability to motion snap or even just move a second player within the formation
Also, I would like to see the ability to motion snap whenever I want to snap the ball - not have to wait for a receiver to fully cross the formation because it glitches the coverage on the defense
- @PaulieV31 I really would like the opportunity to shift/motion more than one player from one formation. if you audible the formation, all of the WRs/TEs/HBs change their position. The ability to move the position of multiple players in succession would provide significantly more options (and variety in play calling while using one formation to read the defense first).
but frankly, I've seen bugs and glitches happening just because two formations (i.e. offense vs. defense) were not compatible. for instance, I've seen one WR and his CB just ignoring each other during a run play (and this happens every time when this run play faces various defensive plays), see here if you are interested: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/WR-amp-CB-simply-ignore-each-other-and-run-past-each-other/m-p/9875589#M6971
I'm therefore sceptical, whether the game (as it is programmed) whether would even allow such a broad variety of 'relative formations' pre-snap... ☹️ - @PaulieV31 If you shift more than one player in a certain formation then you would be in a sense changing the formation.
With what you’re asking...players would create a lot of illegal formations. It is an interesting suggestion and something to look forward to years down the road I’m certain
