Re: Repeating & Frustrating Update Requirement

The Installer initially loads ME1.

Then ME2 and ME3 may be installed from within the launcher.

Off the top of my head, ME1 is around 22GB

ME2 and 3 are each over 30GB.

You can install and uninstall each game independently.

The game shouldn't be doing what yours is doing. The obvious (but perhaps not welcomed) answer is to re-install from scratch.

Thanks. I came somewhat to the same conclusion after the second ME2 (30+ GB) download; whereupon ME2 did finally start.

Although I still don’t understand why the launcher made me download two separate installations for ME2. The file sizes were marginally different: one at 33-something GB, and the other 32-something. I couldn’t imagine—at those sizes—that one was the install file, and the other an update / patch.

I thought maybe the second download was for ME3, and a glitch in the launcher caused it to display the status as ME2. But afterwards, the ME3 button in the launcher still displays “Install.”

Regardless: largely a moot point now. Armed now w/ a better understanding, I think I’ll go ahead and download ME3, so I can jump right in when I finish ME2. Especially if it makes me double-download again.

BTW: I’m loving this franchise so much, I can barely believe it completely eluded my awareness all those years ago at initial release.

    thanks again for everyone’s help!

If you're loving it when you haven't yet finished 2 or played 3.

    You're in for a good time. 😉
