Re: Cerberus HQ - Black Screen & Infinite Loading Screen

Hi Fred,

I read the other thread, thank you for replying. I did do a repair through Origins, right clicking the ME3. Rebooted then logged into Origins, hit play and attempted once again to dock in Cerberus base and just loading screen. Attached is the DxDiag as you suggested. I have played this game before with the same vid card, only difference is I now have Windows 10, which shouldn't make a difference.

    @Traviesa

    Normally this loading screen is a sign that the game can't load Textures necessary for the next part of the game.

    Do you use any Mods or trainer?

    Did you checked your Hard-disk with Chkdsk?

    Did you checked your Memory?

    There is a newer (and last) legacy driver for your card

    Hi Holger

    I do not use mods or trainers. Husband is IT so asked about Chkdsk and he said it wasn't necessary. Memory is fine. I did update the vid driver to the beta version, rebooted and attempted to log onto the game. Sadly, I still get stuck in the loading screen. I'm going to wait until I get my AMD R9280 video card fixed (stopped working so had to use my old vid card meanwhile, thank goodness for warranties) and will attempt to play the game again. Two weeks feels like such a long time. I will keep everyone posted what happens.

    @Traviesa Did you install the beta graphics driver on top of the driver that was already installed? When updating, especially if it's a new card, I recommend a clean install.

    I personally use DDU, which removes all traces of the graphics driver in Windows safe mode and then reboots the PC. Then install the latest driver again. If this doesn't fix your issue, then at least it rules out a driver issue.

    You could also just upload your save file, tell me which character you want to bring along (EDI is a given), and I can get your character past the freeze point and send the file back.

  • Fred,

    Thanks for replying again.  Yes, I made sure the husband made a clean install of the beta driver and no traces of the old ones. So safe to say that it isn't a driver issue.

    I am going to wait until I get my video card back, once fixed. Way better than my old vid card, even if I have played ME3 with it before. If I am still having issues once I get the better vid card back and installed I'll let you know about uploading my save file. I appreciate your help. Have a great Monday. Hopefully, you have it off.

    @Traviesa

    If it still not works with the new card you also could try a save game that is older as that one you currently use.

    And as an IT guy myself, while I can't guarantee that chkdsk will help, it can't hurt either. 😉

    Funny how I was thinking ahead of you. I tracked down my first Shepard that I completed the game with and loaded her up and she works fine, going into the Cerberus base with no issues or lagging, so there is something corrupt with my new male Shepard. Going to redo Sanctuary and see if that fixes things.
